Hello,

I’m relatively new to BlackShark (note this is BS1 not BS2) and I have an issue with programming the controls.

As you can see in the signature, I have a Saitek x52 Pro and the pinkie switch functions like a latch and not a press button. It would make flying easier if it would work as a press “shift” button.

Now, before you tell me to go into the profiler and uncheck latch on it, I must say I’ve already tried that. Either with latch option checked or unchecked it still works as in latch mode.

Since I’m in the asking for help mode, I’d also like the (i) mode button to work as a button, and for that too, if I check the option to work as button, it doesn’t work. Either in the game or out of the game, If I press it, the pov blinks.

Honestly, if possible, I’d like to program the stick in the game and not use the profiler at all, as I haven’t found any utility to 3 modes available, and up to this point I have managed to program everything else just fine.

Am I missing something, perhaps?

Thanks

I also own an X52 Pro but use the Saitek profiler for most of my flight sim configs, but to each their own.

I don't know how you're getting your pinky switch latched unless it's been specifically defined that way in a profile, in game, or you've got a sticky switch. Make sure the SST profile is clear (right click icon in your system tray), triple check your game settings, then break out the can of compressed air for your joystick. I infrequently get a problem where my pinky switch doesn't work and I have to remove and reinstall the finger guard to get it to work again.

As for the throttle thumb button (i) not doing what you want it to, it defaults to clutch mode which allows you to change your SST profile on the fly. If you want to change that, go to the Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller control panel (again, right click the Saitek icon on the system tray), go to the MFD tab, and uncheck the "Enable Clutch Mode" button.

Thanks for the suggestions, EinsteinEP. The one about the Enable Clutch option on the MFD tab was spot on, so I now have an useful extra button.

The pinky button still is a mystery to me, as I can say for sure it's not stuck and that latched option isn't on. Just as an example of strangeness, if the profiler software was not loaded, the game detected the pinky as joybutton6, I could add it in the modifiers list but it would work a click-to-activate, click-to-deactivate modifier (not as hold=active, not hold = not active). If the profiler software was running in the tray, but no profile was actively loaded, the game no longer detected it skyisfalling ... go figure.

However, in the end I managed to make it work , using the profiler, I'll have to live with that, so now I have double the commands, and that's great.

If you have the time, maybe you could post your setup/bindings for the stick? smile

I just got an x52 pro myself, setup took some time but I am liking it a lot so far. To make the pinky switch available in game you need to delete all shift states related to the pinky button in the Saitek profile editor.

In programming go to grid view and delete everything with the pinky. Similarly if you delete all the other modes you can use the mode button in game as well.

Things are a bit scattered - to activate the clutch button in game you need to make changes in the control panel and to activate the pinky button you need to make changes in the profile editor. It'll work eventually!
