Thomas posted on his blog that they introduced a price drop, as a result of a large production run.

Has anyone who has a CSR wheel previouskly had a GT2 wheel? If so is there a great deal of difference between a GT2 and the CSR?

In other words is it worth the cost to "upgrade" from a GT2 to a CSR? Bearing in mind i do not mean the elite version of the CSR.. just the standard.

I may be wrong but I thought the GT2 was the higher end model over the CSR? Sure the CSR came after the GT2 but it was made for mass market... before the price drop the GT2 was 50 bucks more then the CSR.

Ya, looking at the store page... the elite is just the wheel and over 500 bucks! (I fail to understand what makes this wheel that much more better/exspensive)

but the regular one is 200 compared to 150 for the GT2.

Researching the elite vs the GT2... the elite has 1 more FF motor then the GT2 (4 compared to 3)... everything else besides the FM4 logo and colors is the same... so one extra motor is worth double? wink

Mag, if you look at the base of the Elite it is clear that it has been machined to a much higher standard using better material.. People who use it indicate there is a clear difference (for the better) between the elite and the GT2 and CSR.

Now with the CSR, until the price drop then CSR and the GT2 were the same price. The price has now dropped i think due to economies of scale in production of the CSR. As for the actual quality of the wheel word is (from many reviews and research) that the CSR rim is lighter and the overall mechanism is quicker than the GT2 allowing corrections to be made more quickly. However people have noted that the rim is cheap looking as it is made of plastic with clear join marks in it..

ISR gave it props as the better wheel over the GT2 but i don't know if that difference is worth another 200 bucks.
