Just flying around, well away from SP and just noticed 'NOTE' right at the bottom of the HUD. What does this refer to?

Some sort of warning or indication has been tripped. Check your MFCDs. TMS left short should clear it.

Usually your EO Mav sensor has reached 30 minutes and you are at risk of burning it out... but I AFAIK burn-out is not modelled in the sim.

That or someone has sent you a text message biggrin

Ah you may be right Ice as there was a white box in the bottom right corner of the right MFCD saying 'CHK EO'.

You will get the Check EO warning, but I'm told that that is all - there is no loss of MAV function.

When I start up my jet I see a Note indicator at the bottom of the HUD but it is cleared automatically during the cycle.

I just turn the EO off then on again to pretend I am saving it from overheating... biggrin

You need to pick up some beer for the ground crew on the way home.

There are other ways to keep the Mavs cool beyond the specified timeout.

So what's the SOP for that? AP on and climb out onto the wing to apply 'combat cooling system'? Didn't see that training tutorial biggrin
