i don't know in the us of a, but in brazil this would be liable for minor (as in child) humiliation, and the dad problably would get a counselouor visit, not becouose of what he done, but by exposing it.
also i disagree with him,he wasted money on the notebook, shoulda just get it back, what this does is basically telling the daughter i don't give a crap you need this, it's my money i can do whatever i want, teenagers dont take well to that.

I commend him for wanting to do the right thing, but IMO if he's punishing his daughter for 3 months and can't remember why, then I think he's doing it out of anger and frustration rather than teaching his child a valuable lesson. We're also assuming he doesn't beat her, as some have compared their own upbringing and said their dad would. We don't know that to be the case or not.

Personally, I think he's a control freak. She's spoiled.

offtopic in the offtopic forum WinkNGrin but on this occasion I found out what the cat pounce manover is:

One should load her Falcon out with one AIM-120, two AIM-9M, one AGM-88 and 6 BSU-49. On approach to the FEBA bring up your A-G page and set bombing mode to CCIP. Set RIPPLE mode to "Pair" and NUMBER to 3. Set interval for 75 feet. Your aim is to dust the site in one pass, and then beat feet out of the AO. For the Cat pounce, parachute-retarded munitions are MANDATORY. You won't be able to stay out of the frag zone with lo-drag bombs or CBUs.

From the IP, approach the targeted radar vehicle at about 2000 feet altitude, in MIL power, keeping airspeed over 550 KIAS. Bring up HTS and bug him at ten miles. As soon as he lights up, toggle ECM, release the HARM and
dive for the deck. Follow the HARM in.

Your A-G page should now be reflecting bomb symbology. Check RWR; the radar vehicle should not be emitting. If he IS emitting the HARM missed (if you Magnum at ten miles it's not likely you'll miss). Make your altitude 100 feet in this case, for he has almost certainly launched. If not emitting, make your altitude 200. Increase power to max afterburner.

Afterburn your way across the target at no less than 650 KIAS, pickling the bomb load just before your CCIP pipper hits the smoke column where the HARM impacted. As soon as you pickle, hit CAT-I/III switch and pull an immediate
high-g turn out of the area to avoid tracer AAA and MANPADS. Shut down radar and ECM. Reduce throttle and maintain 150-200 feet; head for the FEBA at full MIL power. You should be clocking Mach 1 or better. Pity the poor
ground troops below you as your sonic boom shatters their eardrums.

I rarely get hit by enemy ground-fire using this move; it keeps you in the target area for less than fifteen seconds when employed properly. In Jane's F/A-18 I use a variant of it employing Mk-83R 1000 pounders and two HARMs,
the extra HARM to whack the inevitable Tin Shield EWR vehicle. It's nasty and very effective against SA-10s. Just don't blow the bomb pickle. If you missed with the HARM and pickle long, the SAM'll pop one right up your
tailpipe as you pass overhead.

Miao, Cat

Interesting read for me.

I do as well, but I also agree with Shredder a little bit.
I'm torn.

I don't think he's pathetic mind you, I can completely understand his response, especially since his daughter
posted her pathetic letter online for all to see. It makes sense then that his response would be public to lend
her the ultimate lesson here.

I don't know...in the end she asked for it I think.
He did what a lot of parents would do if they thought of it.

Is it the "highest, best" response...no.
