Everything was fine until last week. Now this game starts up OK, then I'm flying in offline or multiplayer and then the screen goes black and the message above appears. Maybe its a software issue with Vista x64. Windows does not report error or give feedback. Any hints as to how I can get this rig purring again? I get the same problem in CLoD. It states, "Launcher has stopped working, windows will close..."

Hi, think we are gonna need a little more info from you. Cld you post up your setup?...card/cpu/mem/board. It may also be some of your ingame settings. Sounds to me tho like out of memory errors. Im assuming here that your system is mid level which of course cld be wrong, but textures, land detail and shadows use the most mem and shd be set to mid to erase RoF.exe.

If you can post your settings I and others can have a look for you.

Let's start at the beginning....This is a checklist for you to run through.

One, did your computer EVER run ROF without issues?

Two, did you change ANYTHING on your computer between the time it did work and now? And when I say anything, I MEAN ANYTHING!!

Did you add ANY new piece of hardware of any kind?
Did you update ANY software of ANY kind for your computer to include operating system and hardware drivers?
Did you "tweak" anything like overclock the CPU, GPU, MEMORY, ETC....

If it used to work and you did somethin' "new"-----start there!

Edit: A while ago there was an issue with ROF's latest update and the previous version of Gavagai's Mods compilation. It was fixed immediately after the problem was identified. It caused my machine to CTD just after the game started. Are you running any add-ons to ROF?

Oh yeh.....doh!

Do you use TrackIR? My CTDs were caused by TrackIR version 5 software running with TrackIR 4 hardware. As soon as I downgraded to version 4.xxx, my CTDs were gone.

Huh. I've not heard of that one. I also use ver 5 s/w with a TIR4. I've considered getting a 5 actually.

Yes, I tried almost everything, but no avail. Then I changed TrackIR software and... voila .
It is just problem under Win7 64bit.
