I'm having an odd issue with refueling in the campaign. In the training mission I have no problems and can take on fuel quite easily, however in the campaign things get funny. I keep disconnecting immediately after contact.

My radar insists the KC135 is traveling at 310kts, but when I get into position he's actually going about 320kts. Now, immediately after I have contact, my airspeed will suddenly increase by 5kts, causing me to disconnect. This will happen five or six times before I'm finally able to solidly connect. The next time I attempted it, my airspeed would suddenly decrease by 5kts, causing a disconnect, and once again it would take about six tries to finally take on fuel.

What gives? This never happened in the training mission....

Which game? F4? F4AF? BMS? Free Falcon? Open Falcon? Any other mods we should know about?

Yes, this happens to me too in Falcon AF. I never could connect to the tanker the first try during campaign. Strangely it's easy enough when in training. I think it's all because of my lousy flying, or because of psychological factor (in the campaign I always refuel AFTER I dodged flaks, SAMs, and enemy fighters) but if someone else experience the same thing, then it's worth checking more.

So, only two of us are having this problem? It happens consistently in every single campaign mission, and it really pisses me off when I'm bingo and can't get a solid connection.

LOL. Transfer to BMS have to wait until I can get me a TrackIR. Without it I'm as good as blind in BMS since they take away the Situational Awareness Bar.

It's the same in BMS. Training missions go well, day and night, even during turns the tanker remains rock steady. But in a campaign, the tanker shivers and dances all over the place, so i just grab two bags and be on the safe side with 12k pounds of fuel.
