Whenever I'm feeling down and despondent about life, I remind myself that at least I didn't have to serve during the Korean Conflict and fly the HRS-1.

"Hi kids! I'm Happy the Helicopter!"

"Look! A hovering Bassett Hound!"

"I'm sorry, if this is all you have to medevac me, I think I'll just stay here and bleed out."

Sheesh! What happened? Did Igor have a nervous breakdown and start sniffing glue around that time?

Cheers!

Rick... hahaha

Very true, but apparently the lack of rotor blades was ok back then.
Were they filled up with hot air?

Cheers,
Slug

ROFLMAO! That big round nose and the tail boom are full of helium.

Naw, they're there, they're just going really fast.

I guess I'll have to rework the bitmaps and play around with the prop_anim_ratio= setting until they show up better.

But otherwise, it's old Alpha Sims/Virtavia payware that went freeware, so overall it's not too bad.

Cheers!

Those early choppers always remind me of the ones that used to be in the phantom comics i read as a kid.

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

Downloaded and tried the chopper. It's pretty easy to fly. Mighty slow though. Maybe back then they use the '55 to fly stretcher and medics to the victim, and then the medics run him to the hospital. Anyone can run faster than this chopper fly..
