Not sure why when the developer is going to supply patches for free. Are you going to give them a fair price when COD is finished. What we pay for this software is a joke, never mind getting it for almost nothing. All you have to do it take a close look at the FMB to see all the work that has gone into this sim so far. If I was the developer it wouldn't be hard to switch development paths to much easier more profitable projects. Luckily we are dealing with developers that are combat flight sim enthusiasts, so they are staying the course, for little monetary gain. Here's a thinking outside the box thought: They wouldn't have to spend months patching this title if they...I don't know..maybe...PUT OUT A DECENT PRODUCT AT LAUNCH. It's not the gamer's fault the developement that took 7 years was mis-managed and went in different directions. You should be grateful that someone is actually considering buying this at any price. I paid full price for it, and I regret it. The statement by Luthier that we should be grateful he is supporting the sim for free after 7 months is laughable considering the sim is still in the early beta stage.

True, but it is the gamers fault if they act like trolls, and that's where we're at today. I doubt most of the whiners would act like they do on line in real life. They know their habitual #%&*$# wouldn't be tolerated. I just can't wait to hear the whiners take credit for the positive progress of the game when it's finally up to snuff. You KNOW that's coming...

I just get upset when people advise our fellow gamers to pay more for a broken product. That's wrong. Whats next? Our we supposed to look for the highest price instead finding a sale on video cards that underperform because we should reward them for still making them with gamers in mind? You get rewarded for making a good product. If COD was better out of the gate, got great reviews, and was supported in a timely fashion, it would be commanding a higher price right now. That's not the case here, and we shouldn't encourage gamers to spend $50 dollars on something that barely functions when they can get it for $10.

Not only that, but how much other money went into trying to make the game perform close to what it should have at launch? I know I've spent about $700.00 (not including game) to get a system to run it well. While they don't get this money, it's definitely money they took out of my pocket for something that should have been complete. How many other software companies would put out a product that is just as bugged 9-10 months down the road?
With that much money invested in hardware, I'd definitely recommend those who can save a few bucks here and there (whether its for the software, or for different pieces of their hardware) to save it, $10-15 here and there can add up to $100.00 of savings really quickly, if you know how and when to shop.

This is the part you guys don't seem to get, and its been so long, I don't think you ever will. Even if the developer wanted to release the sim finished, they would have been shut down by the investors. They were out of money, it was over, no patches, no sim, no development. The funds from the unfinished release gave them a window to complete COD and carry on with the series. So now you want to pay ten bucks for the sim, oh thats smart, that will definitely finance the project. Unbelievable stupidity. I could give a rats ass if I get permanently banned this forum of children.

I could give a rats ass if I get permanently banned this forum of children. Nobody is demanding to pay only $10 for the sim, thats what it's being offered at. And it's a smart move actually. Who in their right mind would pay full price for this 9 months later? What's better?: The sim staying on the shelf at full price unsold, or selling a unit at a reduced price? Encouraging fellow gamers to overpay for anything is proposterous and not very friendly. I guess that's why you don't see it being said by any other members. I understand most of the points you make Chivas even though I don't agree with you on all of them. I have seen you try to talk gamers out of buying this on sale a few times before and it irks me. If you feel that strongly about it, when you see someone about to buy this on sale, go buy it at full price and gift it to them since money is no object to you.

For the record, SimHQ has a "Bargain Game Thread". It's where gamers help gamers find the best deal on games. If someone was to put COD on there, would it be Unbelievably Stupid? Maybe you need to step back and realize times aren't great for everyone in this economy.

Chivas, we ALL brought the sim...they have had the support. were still waiting for COD to be finished. The CE though does sum up COD, lots of pictures of the box and talk of goodies inside...what you got was unfinished and not very good quality. Now Chill Chivas...

Flipping heck!, I thought I'd just post to let folks know that it was available for the price. For the record, this is probably the cheapest game that I've ever bought, I'm usually at the front of the queue and pay "top dollar". Over the years I've certainly paid more money for a game in a worse state than CLOD is right now. There was (and still is) little point in me buying it to play until I can afford a working joystick so, in a strange way, I've actually paid money for something that, right now, I can't actually use . I freely admit that I was put off buying CLOD when it was released owing to all the "bad press" it got regarding problems with the initial release but, as I couldn't actually play it, the point remains mute. Actually if you look around in the bargain buckets in game shops and online it is not at all un-common to find relatively new game releases at bargain prices. CLOD is not a "mass appeal" game and if suppliers bought too many then they have to turn their stocks over and cut their losses eventually. I guess the issue, if there is one, is whether the problems with the game as it was initially released were at least in part responsible for hampering sales and that is "history" now. Best Regards Aces
