It could be just me...

But cancelled love film as discs kept on failing to arrive. Online section seemed limited and i hated the spyware you have to download now on silverlight to watch a streamed movie.

Tried net flix, and well.... unless i am missing something i am not impressed with the movie selection.

The last one i know about is blockbuster which i have not tried yet.

Anyone got any tips for UK based online rentals... no spyware and decent selection.

Ahh rends,

I am an ANTI apple person. Unfortunately most things in the world would be more acceptable to me than itunes.

Any more suggestions ?

Anti Silverlight, anti ITunes. I don't really think you are going to find what you are looking for. Any legitimate movie downloads are going to have some sort of copy protection, IE spyware.

Ohh don't get me wrong. I am not against silverlight and i have it installed. Love film recently brought in a download add-on to silverlight that is spyware on your computer. That is what i am against. As far as i know, netflix does not use it and that is why i stuck with them as long as i did.

What were you trying to find on Netflix bogusheadbox that you couldn't find? I've been using Netflix for many years now and I've never seen any competitor that had a larger selection than Netflix. I'm referring strictly to physical dvd selection of course. The problem with the online streaming selection is that they often change due to expiring licensing agreements between Netflix and the studio/network that owns the rights to a particular show or movie.

As far as i know (and i may feel a little foolish if i am wrong) netflix here in the uk is online streaming only, no physical dvd delivery.

Must be a lot bigger over there where you are from.

just as an experiment, i googled a list of top sci fi films released every year back to 2009. not one was available on netflix. The original aliens was not available.

Going to give blockbuster a go i think.

Ah, I didn't know that. smile

Oh, and I'm sure the selection available can vary from country to country due to licensing/rights issues.
