There are thousands of usermade aircraft out there, so I was wondering if anyone cares to list a few that they think are of the highest quality, meaning a well made 3D model, skin, and a flight model that feels at home in the world of Third Wire sims.

I would say

1. MiG-29A from this pack http://combatace.com/files/file/12489-the-mirage-factory-mig-29-fulcrum-mod/

2. F-14's from this pack http://combatace.com/files/file/12327-tmf-f-14-tomcat-superpack/

3. ...and of course the Flying Bannana http://combatace.com/topic/67892-blackburn-buccaneer-released-for-sf2/

System Vitals: Intel i5 9600, RTX2060, 16GB DDR3000(OC), Win10 Home 64bit, Saitek X-52, Logitech G27
Current Sims: MSFS2020, Assetto Corsa, StrikeFighters2, IL2:BoS etc, Arma3, American Truck Simulator, SnowRunner

I enjoyed the Buccaneers. I haven't worked much with the more advanced aircraft. I have a strange
liking for the early 1960s Mirage IIIs of all sorts.

Over the hills and far away.
TMF's Mig-29 are great and have a gorgeous cockpit!
I love doing CAP or a fightersweep with them!

That pit is amazing. Probably the best user-made I've seen. And the MiG-29 is a very impressive plane. I thought it was "cheating" in SF2 until I looked thru the data.ini . All that stats seemed spot-on. I did a little test just to make sure there wasn't some hidden advantage. I reduced the fuel load (to about 25%) on a F-15A so that it matched the weight of a fully loaded MiG-29A (which has a slight advantage in thrust). I then took them from parked to 50K feet. The times were pretty close, with a slight advantage to the MiG. Too bad it has such a short range.

The Buccanneer wins by a length, but don't forget Bobrock's modern Harriers and his Tornado ADV. They are excellent.

Best pit is for the TMF Mig-29 for me.
Awesome, and really functional, nothing bothering or sitting in the way.
Perfect made!

My best regards, Kodiak.

That Buccaneer is nice . . . but seems extremely sensitive/weird in the roll axis . . .

Just checked out those Harriers. You're correct. They are very, very nice. Smile2

I think the Buccaneer is ugly in real life so why would i want to fly it in a video game lol. Nothing against the guys who built it for this game just my opinion on the aircraft itself.

Yes. I made the following ini edit to the roll dampers which has cured this to my satisfaction.

In the aircraft data.ini, comment out the clp entry for the wings and replace as follows.

[LeftWing]
//Clp=-0.0142
Clp=-0.0468

[RightWing]
/Clp=-0.0142
Clp=-0.0468

[LeftOuterWing]
//Clp=-0.0519
Clp=-0.1286

[RightOuterWing]
//Clp=-0.0519
Clp=-0.1286

This B-1B is really good, the pit especially. Can't figure out how to drop unguided ordinance (accurately) with it though...

Yeah, but you can't see it while you're flying it. At least that's what I keep telling myself about my ugly motorcycle.

On the subject of the Buccaneer, I finally got around to flying a campaign in it. The pit is so good.
The autopilot switch: it works.

Look at those detailed throttles, and that Tail Plane Angle indicator, even that works. Unbelievable.

With my interest in naval aviation and love for the HMS Ark Royal, the Buccaneer itches me right were I scratch the detail alone for this User made plane puts it right up at the top of my list of favs on the same level the Apache is a work of art. the fact is if you what to know what the best is just look in the my aircraft folder, its so hard to decide because they all have that little thing that makes them special.

There's lots of nice stuff out there, and yes, the aircraft mentioned are top notch.

But the F4D-1 Skyray Ultimate Package rules over all others, LOL!

I don't know who made it, but it's a breathtaking thing that just oozes fifties Cold War...je ne sais quoi!

Go download it right now. You'll thank me.

Cheers!

Julhelm over at CombatAce made it. He's currently employed by Dice. So you see where the talent comes from wink

Oh really? Will check it out. Methinks a 1950's scenario involving Iceland would be a great place to try out all those "forgotten" Navy fighters like the Skyray, the F-3 Venom, the F-11 Tigershark etc.

EDIT: Got it. Thank you Rick!

Another vote for the F-14 by TMF.

And the Skyray isn't bad, either.
