OMG! such a silly mistake...........again. I have such bad luck with Graiteam and stupid mistakes. Got X too Go to work but with an unknown error. If you are a modder bringing in models beware of the 1 and l lol I missed one. ugh

I think it's telling you that it needs fragments starting with 'p_' and 'd_'.
So that the game knows what to do with the new model.

Mesh should consist of one part (chunk in game terms) which name begins from "d_" or "p_".
In our case from "d_". For example d_shot or d_grenade. Named in lower case.

Attach all mesh parts (if any exist) to one chunk. Set Pivot to 0, 0, 0. Reset XForm. Rename it to d_grenade.

Slowly getting there. Right now trying to figure out why my normal map is not showing up and making a lower LOD. Reset X form...........great idea........I think Im rusty at this =) Needs a pivot? Oh my.....glad I didnt try and use in game yet. Probably be funny. AND thanks .......

Finally got this freaking thing in game. Wow, made a zillion little mistakes.....1 instead of l. Forgetting bump AND ref prefix............and many more stupid little things. Spec and diffuse maps really need to get tweeked. My xyz of model is all messed up. sticks straight up. Oh ya..........the scale is totally messed up. REALLY BIG. its funny. I set max's scale to cm but ahhhhhhhhhhhh ya. But its in game. Made more LODS, Ill add them in when I get my maps fixed.

Great learning experience despite my fuzzy head issues. Great refresh on modelling and the importance of paying attention to the LITTLE things.

Oh, and to Andrey..........

I already reset pivot to x0y0z0.....just have not repacked yet. But should pivot be a back of model where it attaches to rifle? Or in center?

Ah trying to get my reset of scale to show up in game. Geeezzzz and I thought I was being smart by setting up in MAX in centimeters..........NO! lol


Assuming the model viewer from game sizes thingie is right, I have gotten it down to only 2x bigger than it should be. well better than 200x biggrin

Well, updated minimod and missions should be released by Saturday or so now that I finally figured out everything I set out too. Hopefully final versions for Operation Safari and Crescent moon. Plan is to do a couple more missions then focus on getting a more serious model in game. Im still thinking about trying to get a playable .50 cal M2HB in game. Not really that useful in a tank sim, but I could figure out how pivots work for axis (think its easy but eh ya) and I want to do fully useable sights and T & E if possible. Sticking to what I know as I know the M2 backwards and forwards.........hell fully trusted my life to that thing. Excellent weapon.

If I get that m2 to work out how I would like I would HAVE to model something to put it on. biggrin M113 would be easiest. Very simple vehicle to model both insides and out. Have not tried to open games 113 but think going that way is just a huge headache so just do the whole thing myself.

Now all this should keep me busy in my spare time for the next 3 or 4 months. biggrin LOL maybe multiplayer will be sorted out........ok Im not going to hold my breath.
