The "Mixed Flightmodels, check drag stab2" is fairly straightforward to understand.
When he checked the source code Ralf found that here were several really bad errors relating to how flight model data was used.
The code was badly botched, but it gave a reasonable effect with the old flight models.
Ralf corrected he code, and put more appropriate data in the flight files to work with the corrected code.

So, there are old and new flight files, and they cannot be mixed. The eaw.exe checks if there is a mixture of old and new, and if that is the case it generates the "Mixed Flightmodels, check drag stab2" error.

All the files in the downloaded "Planes" folder are of the new type, and if I were using it, and copied even just one of the older type "*.flt" files from somewhere else, and pasted it into the EAW directory, then I would get the error.

The exe will work with either all new, or all old, and uses the appropriate set of routines. What it cannot do is to work with a mixture, and use the old routines with the old files and the new routines with the new ones.

What you need to check is how you managed to create the mixture in the first place. Maybe it is as simple as having some stray "*.flt" files in you EAW folder.

Hi,

there is a typo in the V1 flightfile. Looks like not many use the V1 at all, cause this bug is more than a year old by now. wink

Will offer a update asap.

Greetings,

Knegel

Is it a good option if i download the new planes folder again and replace it totally?

Thanks again for the fast replies!

Hang on a little while before going for a big download.
Hopefully Ralf (Knegel) will offer a patch- it may be a single "V1V1.FLT" file to put in the "Planes\Slot29FM\V1_FM" folder.

I have not heard from Ralf but I will have a look to see if I can fix it.

There is a temporary fix here which works:

V1 temporary fix

Put it in your EAW folder and not the Planes folder.
You should replace it as soon as Ralf posts the correct one.

Thanks Jel,
I got the same problem here...
but I also get it with default .128e,
so that means it is also in the cdf.
Thanks,
AO

I do not know what the drag stab2 value should be. I think that it was zero before I changed it to 0.01 and hence slightly positive. If Ralf tells us I can change it to the correct value, and redo the FLT.CDF too smile
I did not want to change the online set up, that's why I wrote about putting in in the EAW folder.
