...some are not so brilliant, notice the kink in some of the starboard wing shadows??? and other oversights as a result of banging them out but there is a corrected set pending whenever the sopwith 3dzs are done, itm reworking airship 3dz's...check the Gens wwi thread for that.

Guys.

Some of the French and Belgium/German airfields were pre war permanent sites with proper airfield buildings of various types. The ones with tents were mostly temporary forward fields, which moved with the front lines.

I was pointed to this site which has very good info on the aerodromes on the Western Front, and with the inter wars maps on the other link I posted, you should be able to add and remove sites by date.

the rest all look ok to me Al...
would'nt worry about the odd kink
it's bearly noticeable anyway.

good work on the airship m8..any
chance of a tethered observation
balloon?

gibbo...for simplicity and some
accuracy,stickin' with the no
runways style mobile airfields
and chateau bases for the time
being.

WF - 1.28e
ralf...anyone.

could the MG tracer and smoke sprites be enhanced
or intensified so as to be plainly visible against all
backgrounds in both camera and cockpit views?

presently they are only vaguely visible in the camera
view (even with SFX set to high) and not visible at all
in cockpit view with full zoom applied, it's almost impossible
to direct an accurate line of fire at another aircraft, i can
only tell from the cockpit shake and the sound that i'm
actually firing the guns, the tracer sprites in 1.26 are
highly visible against all backgrounds in both views, maybe
the settings for them can be employed into 1.28?

also can a light muzzle flash reflection be introduced to the
open cockpit views?

Hi,

did the WWI planes use tracers at all??

Did you try to use different tracer sprites?? They are responsible for the contrast to the background.

The default tracers are highly visible cause every bullet was a tracer, as such we had a laser like tracer line, otherwise the sprites and the coloured part of the tracers are the same.

Greetings,

Knegel

Hi Ralf.

Early on there were no tracer bullets, but certainly the RFC used them to shoot down Zeppelins

Wikipedia
Quote:
The British introduced a tracer version of the .303 cartridge in 1915. The United States introduced a .30-06 tracer in 1917. Prior to adopting red and, later, other color bullet tips, for tracers, US tracers were identified by blackened cartridge cases.

No mention of Germany or France.

maybe i should'nt have used the term tracer...

what i was referring to is the visible line of fire
with smoke trails from the guns to the target....

ralf...if u can enhance the visibility of this in
the eaw ini, could u send me the .ini entry details
thanks...
