Just this week I've started up their SuperBug again. What a great machine!

I only wish it was possible to use my Thrustmaster MFDs with it.

What's wrong with those, I almost pulled the trigger on the MFDs...?

With the MFDs is nothing wrong - they work great in DCS A-10, DCS Black Shark and every other sim that lets you assign keystrokes to the buttons around the MFDs, but the VRS Superbug has no keys assigned (or assignable) to LDDI1 -- LDDI20 or RDDI1 through 20.

That's not true. I use my Thrustmaster MFDs all the time in VRS. When I originally saw your comment I thought you meant getting the video out to multiple monitors. I have done this in windowed mode, but it's not a good solution. I think VRS has future plans of exporting the MFDs.

Anyway, you can use the MFDs in the VRS superbug. DDI buttons can be assigned in the ACM. Personally, I use a utility called "AutoHotkeys" (something like that) to do it. I'll be back to edit this post -- don't remember the details as I've been flying DCS:A-10 exclusively for the last month or so.

Thanks for the link, Goblin. That looks promising!

Is it possible to assign a ministick axis to a radar cursor?
Im having hard time locking up target, using key input.

Autohotkey would solve that aswel, but it would only work left-right and up-down.

VRS need to put in some fullscreen axis and button mapping plus screen export utility in the ACM. FA18 has 3 MFCDs and one touchscreen, not being able to export them to outside (touchscreen) displays is a mayor letdown. There's also no combat mission generator. No campaign either.

IMO, it would be better if they'd made a standalone combat sim for this plane instead.

{emphasis mine}

I don't think you understand what that would require. They'd have to model a land mass, a flight environment, coms, enemy units, friendly units, weather, weapons, damage, AI, carrier ops, and all the things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

What we really need is a hybrid of the weapons/damage modeling/mission editing of DCS married to the open platform of FSX.

If you're willing to learn programming XML, C++ or NASAL, you've got the most open of platforms with FlightGear.
They already have a basic combat module. Extending it would not be in the "impossible" territory, but in the "very, very, VERY time intensive" one.
