I love this sim, but I may have to give it up. It seems like every time I get in a race I have to pull over to attend to one or both of the kids and/or wife. It never fails I have even tried racing after the kids have gone to bed and the wife will need something. I have tried racing late at night, but then I'm spent the next morning at work. I've tried cutting back to make sure everyone's needs are taken care of before even attempting to join a race. I am lucky to get a complete race in during a week.

I need a sim where I can get the same rush, but be able to hit pause/freeze.

What he said wink..

In all seriousness though, i have 3 young kids and a wife and it is definately difficult to find the time. but to be fair, everyone needs some "me" time.. the key is making the wife understand this without hurting her feelings or causing spousal friction.. I am lucky that i have an understanding wife who also games so doesn't mind me playing..

And that, boys and girls, is why I don't do much of anything multiplayer.

I had to inform my spouse who also games that I'm committed to a league for the next 12 weeks on Tuesdays. He came home on Tuesday and was wondering about supper, lol.

That sucks Wedge, Just do what I do devote one day on the weekend to racing. I currently can do Sat and Sun but normally would only be able to do one day. Not much but still its something.

Sorry to hear that Wedge but I think the key is time blocking. Just have your wife treat it as if you were in a soccer league or something like that where you played one time a week.....everyone needs me time as long as it is a moderate amount of time.

There are noise canceling headphones on the market now :-)

Yup, definitely me time mate. Everyone needs it, and life doesn't work without it. It's your life too remember?

Thanks for the advise. I will have to come up with something - I have already asked the wife to not include me on any family for the virtual Daytona 500. That is still 3 weeks away so hopefully I can get that block of time uninterrupted. I can only hope the servers dont crash like last year and we were delayed for a few hours.

Do you have a few hours on the weekends?

maybe late at night on the weekend (friday or saturday) so you can sleep in the next morn?

Ask your wife to watch the kids while you race (keep races short, offer wife to watch kids when she needs to do something)?

good luck!
