I have both, I originally used My Traffic, an older version. It worked well but the models looks bad and it kind of killed it for me. Later, when UT2 came out, I bought that and it seemed like a nice improvement. The models looks a lot better, but there are a few things about it that took some getting use to.
UT2 works outside FSX, but starts up automatically with FSX. When you start up a flight it takes about 30 secs or less for traffic to appear and just before there is a pause where fsx would freeze for a sec. No matter how many times I would see this and know its normal, it would still scare me to think FSX just locked up. The stupid wave file that plays when it starts always scares me! "Ultimate traffic 2 Initialized" (lol)
Another thing was, it seems with UT2 Id have a lot of traffic at one part of an airport while other terminals had none. With UT2, you cannot control the amount of traffic in the settings menu, but outside the program in their own utility or from the pull down menu, you can increase or decrease the amount of traffic on the fly. Takes a little getting use to, but it works. You also have to pay for traffic scedual updates.
After I got into Prepar3d, I found that UT2 would not work with it, so I found out the author of My Traffic re-wrote the latest version of My traffic to work with P3d, so I bough that. Its many versions after the one had a long time ago and I was very impressed. The planes looked much better. As good as in UT2, plus military traffic. Also, all my gates could be populated. If I set the traffic to just %50 the airport is packed! In UT2 a setting of %70 got me just 20-30 planes at LAX. It seems to me, they are about the same on FPS inpact, with maybe a slight egde to My traffic, but since Im using it in P3d, it may not be fair comparison.
Right now, I like My Traffic better, but its a close call. Both work well.
