Anyone have experience with Gamefly? I recently saw that Direct2Drive merged with them, and I have a few games bought from D2D previously. I see they have a free to play for PC games (older games, but some interesting ones). How about delivery times? They up to par with, say, Netflix? I just cancelled my HULU account, so that freed up some money. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

I used Gamefly for about 9 months, it's great if you play SP games a lot and beat them quick. Delivery for me was slower than Netflix, I had 1 game out at a time and it seemed to be about 5 days for a turn around. Having 2 young boys it's saved me loads of money not buying a game they thought they liked only to hate it once playing it.

I just stopped it because all they seem to like was MW3, even rented the Batman Arkam and it got little to no play. I recommend it to anyone who plays a lot of games.

I've canceled my subscription since I never play either of my consoles anymore but as a service I'd rate Gamefly as excellent.

I used to have it. Sometimes it was hard to get games right when they released, but the overall experience was pretty good. I liked the ability to just keep a game that I liked and paying a used price for it. Thats how I got Forza 3 even though I got it on release day I combined 2 coupons and ended up paying $30 for it.

I don't care about renting games, though I bought two games from D2D right before they made the switch. They had games like ArmA 2 and IL-2 Cliffs of Dover, and a working search function.

Now I can not find the two games listed above, and when the search fails it always reverts to the "Rent" and "Console" section. Sadly it looks like D2D is dead for PC gamers.
