The Ford V8 Super Car is always the first car I try any new aspect of the NTM on - because I'm a Kiwi But it's such a handful of a car that it is really susceptible to showing any deficiencies in the tire model. Chasing down things that make this car act up often results in improvements that make the other already good NTM cars even better, so while it's not on the NTM yet it is certainly contributing to the NTM's development! The car is getting better and better on the NTM, I have a blast driving it, but it's probably.... hmm... on a made up scale of "handfulability"... about 2.7 times more of a handful than the current OTM car. I keep posting on our alpha test forums "this car is a blast! check it out!" and then no one else can keep it pointing forwards As we iron out the tire model even more I'm sure we'll get to a point where it is "safe" to unleash on the general public. Don't fear that we're ignoring it, because we're not! We just want it to be as awesome as possible before making the switch.

Maybe that's why it's also not on the Mustang, maybe the combination of the size, power to weight ratio and loading/weight transferance on the cars is to much for the curent NTM. If that's the case i can imagine that one of the definite improvements to the V8 was the stronger tire walls dealing with the balance of the car.

The Ford Falcon is such a wonderful car in iRacing, I love it, the engine screaming, the handling, etc.
BUT, this is probably the hardest road car to master in iRacing. Sure eventually after enough practice you'll be able to get it around a track alright, but certainly not fast. Going fast will require a lot more practice, and some jedi skills (which I didn't have when I ran the series a couple of seasons back, and still don't have today either).
So if the NTM is making it even more difficult to handle, I understand they don't want to roll it out just yet.

"Jedi skills" I like that.. smile

Yes that's how you could discribe it. Just started driving the V8 and as you say driving it takes a lot of practice, driving it fast.. well.. and then there is Racing with it.. screwy Not sure if I will try that the first few weeks. It will kill my SR.. I'm Driving it 7 sec slower than the fast guys.. Ok, getting 2 a 3 sec faster should be possible with practice, but how do they get so fast with this. It looks like they are very agressive on the steeringwheel and paddle, allways correcting when they go through a corner.

As I said, I ran the series in S3 2011 and both my SR and iR suffered, but not too bad because 1/ my iR was-is already low anyway and 2/ I had a C-license at that time, which allows for quite a lot of incidents compared to the A-license that I have now. Combine that with a lack of participants within CET time slots, that made for a rather disheartening experience. The upside to that was that I would still run the unofficial races conservatively on an empty track to regain the SR that I lost in the rare official races... (in unofficial races, iR doesn't count, but SR does, albeit with a low multiplier compared to official)

To be honest, this is not a C-class car, but rather an A-class car. In theory you can race it in the official series with a D-4.0 license. I took the V8 Supercars series coming from driving the Jetta in the GTC series, and that wasn't a clever move because I was still way too wet behind the ears.
