definitely gonna aim for the XFX 900Mhz Edition ($499.99), hopefully they aren't sold out by time my tax return is here.

i wonder if they are flashable to 7970 :P as the XFX has a Dual BIOS.

My 5850 is still kicking butt, so this might be a decent upgrade 2 years from now.

the only thing im skeptical about is the 3 slot design...

otherwise I'll prolly be dropping my Tax return on a 7950 XFX, whether its the 800Mhz or 900Mhz version I'll have to see as the Overclocked is already sold out...

Im sure I can OC the 800Mhz one to about 1Ghz though.

Have you tried Tigerdirect?

Last time I checked, they had both XFXs in stock. Shipping was free. But I am not sure whether you'd have to pay sales tax or not.

yeah, once my tax return is deposited, i'll do my rounds (newEgg, Amazon, Tiger).

I prefer NewEgg for a few reasons, one being that some of the other components i'll be ordering, TD and AMZN dont have at all, so if i order everything from NewEgg it all ships from the same place (Usually).

I did order a few things from TD because they were Cheaper+Free SHipping.

the 7800 looks good too, in the range of the 6900 series. due out in about 2 weeks.

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/AMD-Radeon-HD7870-HD7850-Pitcairn,14747.html

Also I went with the Sapphire 7950 900MHz Edition, as it has more accessories and a Dual BIOS,

the XFX surprisingly didnt have dual BIOS.
