(All below applies to Black Shark 1)
Is there anyway to minimize this game (Steam version)? I can minimize FC2 fine, but when I minimize BS to check the tutorial thread the game will not maximize no matter what (task manager, clicking on the window). Am I the only one with this issue?
I don't have it on Steam, but what you describe happens intermittently to me, too. Although I'm not 100% sure why, it seems to happen every time I Alt-tab out to adjust my TrackIR. It's possible (pure speculation here) that making the DirectX window in TrackIR the current focus messes up BS2. I don't seem to have the same problem in A-10C, but again, this happens only intermittently to me (tonight it worked fine twice, then broke the third time, restarted, broke right away, restarted, worked fine 2 or 3 times in quick succession).
Edit: The keyboard controls for collective/turning seem to act normal. With the X52 both seem to auto correct even with the auto hover should be disengaged. I'll try resetting the controls again.
I had an experience where, for some reason, my rudder pedals were ALSO mapped to the collective control. The two axes would compete each other for control with some very unpredictable results which sounds what like you're experiencing. Check the "Axis commands" drop down in the controls options and make sure no other control is stealing that mapping.
Doesn't look like I can set anything like collective from within the options menu. I guess I have to use Saiteks software for this game?
The "All" is a bit misleading: this only refers to discrete commands (e.g., push buttons). Select the "Axis commands" drop down to map axis commands like pitch, rudder, collective, etc.
And what is the difference between the sub menus "KA-50 Game" and KA-50 Real" in the Options/Control menu?
"KA-50 Game" sets the key commands for the Easy Avionics mode while "KA-50 Real" sets the commands for the Simulation mode. Each set applies to only to that difficulty mode.
If someone has an in game/options menu profile I would appreciate it if you could upload/send it to me.
PM sent.
1) Set my view panning to the center silver button on my joystick.
Under the View (or All) drop down, map View Up Slow, View Down Slow, etc. to the hat switch. Don't forget the diagonals (Up Left, Up Right, etc.).
2) Set my mouse panning to the button on the throttle (with the mouse next to it).
Not sure what you mean by this: do you mean toggling the mouse as view control and clickable cockpit control? Then, under "General", map "Clickable mouse cockpit mode On/Off" to your throttle button.
Initially it worked like this, but I decided to install Saitek's software. Now it looks like it changed the former mouse control button on the throttle to type: .,;,./;,./
...
Is there anyway to over ride or change these controls?
In the Saitek Profile Editor software, right click the desired control and set it to "unprogrammed". This leaves it as the DirectX input. Remember that you may need to do it for all three modes, shifted and unshifted, depending on how you use the mode knob.
