Fantastic AAR Beach! You made the best you could out of a dire situation, learned a lot in the process and survived to tell the tale to your comrades!

I would have been so tempted to have taken out my high threat targets with the vihkrs and then gone in rockets and gun blazing. I would have died in the process.

Great discipline Beach!

Excellent AAR, I loved this mission when I flew it in BS1.

This is one of the reasons I prefer BS over A-10C, and why I was so happy to hear of BS2's release: as a mostly single-player pilot (I love multiplayer, but I like being able to pause whenever I want *grin*), Black Shark has much more to offer than A-10C: the Deployment Campaign is an excellent scripted campaign, while the Georgian Oil War is a superb "branching" campaign that pulls off an ongoing war scenario very well (ok, it's a bit weird that most CAS support absolutely depend on you slaughtering enemy armor for your side to win - what happened to concentration of force? *grin*).

That said, responding to an earlier comment: BS2 did fix the rampant Wingman AI issues in BS1 (having nearly finished the GOW with the defective wingmen, I can tell you it's a godsend), which alone makes it worth the purchase price. smile

Strangely enough, my experience has been that the wingmen usually handle bandits pretty well... better than me in fact (I usually have to turn on the aircraft labels to perform as well as the eagle-eyed wingmen). During the GOW, if I heard the Bandits call, I'd tell my wingies to take them out and more often than not they would succeed (it's about the only thing they'd manage to do, at times *grin*).

As for the climb, I think your best bet is to start aggressively climbing right from takeoff (keeping transational lift, obviously). It really is the weirdest thing though, to claw for altitude like that. I kept expecting sam launch warnings. smile

Anyway, excellent AAR. Makes me want to get back into the office. smile

So your Forward ARMING and REFUELING Point did not have any ammo or fuel?

I hope you asked to speak to the manager!
Maybe you can sue them for false advertising. Cuss

Well, to be fair - and I didn't realize this until Mission #10, the FARP Shorpa was apparently taken control of by the rebel units since mission #10 is all about wresting control back from them. So I guess I can consider it that way.. biggrin
