Hello,
I am a returning fan of EAW,having tried many other flightsims, none of which have the atmosphere of EAW.
I no longer have my disc and wondered what is the best way to get hold of the game,
I am using XP and an Nvidia 7300 card at the mo and I understand from reading the forums and Tally Ho that this will cause problems.
Not being technically minded is this going to cause me insurmountable problems?
Martin

Hi martin1. Welcome back mate. OK to get you started you can do two things. Pick up a copy off of Ebay, or get a download copy. There are plenty of places to find EAW so I won't bother pointing you in any direction. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=European+Air+War As far as the game goes, you'll need to patch the game to 1.28e and that should get you running, but then, depending on your rig and OS, you might need to run in Glide using a wrapper program or in D3D you might need the Windower program. Until you have a copy on your HD, you will not know what's needed, but we have not to my knowledge, failed to get anyone going.

Hi Martin,
I use XP and a 7600 and although I use the windower to avoid map problems offline, I generally have no problems flying EAW...
cheers,

Hi Martin,
dsetup.dll is one of the files from the original game so you should be able to find it on the cd... it goes in the main eaw folder (where the eaw.exe is) if you can't find it just send me a private message here with an email address and I will send it over to you
cheers,
Pobs

Hi,
dont use the install routines, you might get unwanted and disturbing registry entrys. Just copy and past the contents of the CD into a folder of your choise, then patch this files with EAW1.28e.
Greetings,
Knegel

Hi Martin. The GOLDEN rule with EAW is not to install the game, just simply copy the CD to your HD, to a location, you like. You can put it on your Desktop, in a folder, and patch the game to 1.28e. It should run like that, and depending on any problems, you might need to try running in either Glide or D3D.
