some of the sticky threads are quite old, so I'm not sure if the steps and things they suggest are still compatible with the 4.11 patch

What is it that concerns you pepper?

Almost any mission or campaign made in any stock unmodded version prior to v4.11m will still work using v4.11m. The only exceptions that I have found so far are campaigns and missions made using some of the v4.09b1m (beta) maps.
