This is a very underrated kit. While much of the trumpeter "bashing" is deserved, this kit is an absolute gem, and very fun to build! Very detailed interior, parts fit great with very little filler needed.
Trumpeter kit, MM enamel paints, TechMod decals & Masks, promodeller wash.
I still need to add some exhaust stains and rigging, but other than that it is done!

One of my faves, great work. I built Accurate Miniatures' Avenger, and had a blast. Literally biggrin

This was 13 years ago. I was 17 then. I look back and go ewwww, to much weathering...lol

Very nice build!

Trumpeter went way overboard on the rivets though, they look way over-scale.

I've got the AM 1/48 TBM kit in my stash, looking forward to building it.

Beautiful kits guys, the avenger is a very charming plane IMO.

Absolutely beautiful work, how do you get such great detail in the rivets? the weathering is just right. This was also the plane George Bush flew in as well wasn't it?

Thanks for all of the compliments everyone! I find building models very relaxing.

The entire plane is given a "wash" using a mixture of dark acrylic paint thinned down. Once dried you rubb off the majority, but the wash stays in the rivets.

Yep, Bush flew an Avenger in WWII. I was hoping to find some aftermarket decals of it, but no luck!
