I think I suffer from having low expectations maybe. LOL.. As an old simmer from the Commodore 64 days I'm still stunned by the graphics of today. For instance, I've heard a lot of people on the DCS forums complaining about the dated look of DCS terrain and stuff..and I just scratch my head because I'm awed by what I see.

Same for FSX (even the stock FSX). The ORBX and UTX stuff is simply amazing. So...while it may look dated by some standard when compared to things like some of the scenes you might see in some of the new first person shooters, I don't know that it is an apples to apples comparison.

Just an opinion though. These things are definitely person specific..

hm,

don`t know. Go to the screenshots section, there are many very pretty shots.

Like Beach said, with some addons, it still looks very good.

However P3D looks very good too, and when there will be one consensus regarding private customers, I might switch.

I don't know....i just reinstalled FS9 (can't install some FS9 aircraft into FSX without FS9 being in my registry) and i thought my first flight in the default 737 looked pretty good.

Beech put it well. I started with FS98, and what we have today (with addons) just amazes, and delights, me.

Nice shots Tom. I agree FSX still looks great and easily holds its own with anything else out there.

Nice shots Tom.

I agree as well, maybe "native FSX" has aged, but it is 5 years old, adding modern addons (REX, ORBX, A2A etc.) looks as good (or in my opinion better) than most anything out there.
