THX Ataros,

I tried several hints earlier, but never really got rid of the stuttering. Will check out your link next weekend.

You will find you have to tuen trees off online anyway. The first few times i was on i lost a 110 hiding in the trees several times while i was hedgehopping over them, then a 109 i also lost in the trees. The last straw was when i was being chased by a hurri when i was in a 110, i was hopping the trees and he was gaining because he was flying straight and level through them. Little did i realise that all of these guys must have had their trees turned off so in effect where not flying through them, they simply were not there , the dude in the hurri must have thought i was having fits by popping up and down like i was biggrin

Cant wait for the damage model or something to be done so the trees become as they should. And yes it does help a huge amount in spotting planes with tress off. I imagine it also helps the fps with the amount of tress that now do not have to be drawn as well, but either way it doesnt seem to impact my actual performance in game. But at least know i am not hedge hopping while everyone else is flying straight onto my six biggrin

1280 by 800 , what does the game look like in that res Snapper ? Would be interested to see if you have a screenie , i have only tried 1920 by 1080. I did lower my res in il2 to try online as you could supposedly see the planes better but i hated the actual look of the game and reverted to 1920. I think they introduced the great dot debacle after much whining about draw distance of planes and we ended up with the horrible black dot pixely thing at far distances. There has always been talk of having other things present for spotting planes , my favourite being a sun glint of a distant canopy at the right angle. Something that would catch your eye at a distance and alert you to which area there may be a plane. Would be cool smile

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

This is a series of guncam clips I took recently at a resolution of 1280 x 800: http://vimeo.com/34734845

At 0:52 of this video there is a landscape sequence which shows that although far from pretty, there is still a lot of detail for discerning ground targets and other aircraft while still maintaining workable frame rates. The frame rates in the entire video is 29.97 fps which I set in FRAPS. The cockpit instruments are barely readable at 90 POV, I have to zoom in to 30 POV to make any fine adjustments to boost or rpms. At 1929 x 1200 the instruments are perfectly readable at 90 POV.

Hope this helps.

I got a GTX560ti 2GB in hopes to play this game. My frame rates over cities are around 9-12. When over water my frame rates are good unless there is even a bit of smoke on screen. A water splash up close drops frame rates down to 5-9. And the smoke/water splash affects do not even look that good.

I am running with all settings turned up, though considering how nice RoF looks and the frame rates I get in that, CloD is terrible. Honestly I wish I could get a refund because I am essentially unable to play the game.

Are there any settings in particular I should turn down? I would hope so, but with such awful performance I doubt it will ever be playable at any setting.

Specs:

GTX 560ti 2GB
AMD 965
8GB DDR2
Win7 64bit

I have the same card, although maybe different manufacturer? I run my settings with all textures being HIGH/ORIGINAL, forests medium, land shading medium, buildings medium, roads/shadows ON, grass OFF, damage decals HIGH at 1680x1050. Even online, I get 40+fps over cities around 200m, and 100+fps (limited usually by vsync to 60) up high. You'll notice very little decrease in image quality with most things going to medium, any lower though and they do start to look like crap.

What's the rest of your system specs? I found I increased my fps significantly when I OC'd my CPU (i7 920 from stock 2.6 to 4.1 now) Seems that up to 3.6 I got pretty good returns on fps, but after that it was minimal. I'm also running 24GB ram in triple channel (yes I know CoD can't handle 24GB).
