anyone else ever had problems with one of these cables not staying plugged in? While it does make contact, it's so loose in both my mobo (actually, two diff't mobos) and my Logitech speaker control panel that I frequently lose signal. I will buy a replacement, but wonder if some brands are better or if there's any variance in them.

the clip tabs do wear down, to where you feel it "click" but it only holds if there is nothing weighting it down..

i also had a cheap cable that came with one of those DVD/Surround Combo Sets, and it wouldnt stay into anything but the DVD player (like they purposely built their stuff that way.)

try putting some paper/tape around the jack to make the connection snugger. (dont cover the optics though),

Tried paper and tape but no joy. Think might need to just buy a new cable and hope that it stays secure. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I've always wondered why they get by with making such a crummy, loose connector for something so essential as an audio connection.

Makes you wonder if they make after market cable clamps, that hold the cable behind the plug. Kinda like the old centronics printer connector.

I have the Logitech Z-5500 speaker set and got a fiber optic cable for it and it snaps in - purchased at Best Buy... no problems on either end.
