Ha,
First i am new to this forum and in guess this question is asked you a lot. But canīt easily find the post about it.
Years ago i played EAW as my most awesome game of my game collection. And now it still is the best aerial game.
Last 2 years i dreamed almost everyday about playing it again. But you can call me a newbie because i dont know how to play it.
Windows 7 gives an error, i guess you know what i am talking about. That it wont run because of it 8-bit drivers.
I found some info on the internet but i dont really now how to.
Can you explain as easily as possible to me how to install so i can play this by god created game?
My english is not that good, maybe you already noticed. Sorry for that.

Owyeah, sadly i lost my original copy. I dont know where it is. So i need to download it.
But trust me, if it is possible to run on windows 7 i will buy it again.

PlEASE help me!:)

Hope you understand this thread.

Maurice

Hi Maurice,

I'm not sure but i think the problem about win 7 is related to User Account Control feature, you got to disable it! Go to control panel // system&security // Change UAC definitions (..or something like this!) Ahh and don't worry because my english is not very good as well. biggrin
I'm sure that you will have some help from the community here

and try this too:

First don't install eaw just make an EAW folder and copy the contents of the cd to it make it anyplace but program files
Second I'm not sure if you did it but follow Maj_Alvegas advice and get 1.28E and a glide wrapper I use one called nglide

I'm running sweet on win 7 64 bit

Im not sure what to do(damn im a noob:P)
Because rwatson said that i don't need to install the game.
So just copy paste in a map which is not in program files.
And then download the patches in the same map?
And download the nglide?
Then i can run ''eaw.exe'' and it works? or am i doing something horrible wrong?

Cheers

In the C: drive go to Programe Files (X86)

open that folder, then right click, new folder, name it OAW 1.28E

Open that folder, then right click on the EAW disk, select explore, then select all the EAW files, right click -copy.
Go back to your EAW 1.28E folder, right click and -paste

Now you can install the 1.28E patch, when installing it will ask to which folder, browse to find the C;programe files(x86), EAW1.28E

Any question you can alway contact us

IT WORKS!
but the mouse in the menu is a bit laggy and cracky.
And i liked the old view where you could see the planes you wanted.
Also the gunsound is very low, is this made realistic or can you set the gunsounds loud again?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

you can set the sound volume under "Game setup --> Sounds".

The laggy mouse happens on some systems.

Greetings,

Knegel
