After spending so many many hours modding my 1.28e install by putting all the files in the folder and checking each one before and after each install I find im left with some aircraft with error messages like "MIXED FLIGHTMODELS CHECK DRAG STAB2" and most of the Russian planes with ther skins the same as spitfire's and cockpits all mixed up props not looking right.

So for now no more modding I will just fly the STD 1.28e, wich is a shame realy as so many good looking skins and add-ons out there by so many kind people.

I do have backup installs so no problems there one thing abot EAW is it's easy to load and install.

Hi olddog,

same like in EAW1.2 you must follow the rules if you mod the game.

For EAW1.28e are already several setups prepacked.

Look here:

and here:

If you have already ETO_01, you already got around 200 different Skins in the Planes folder.

If you have OAW1.28Epr or newer, you can adjust old or create new plane sets, out of the available Planes(planes folder). You also can add own skins to the planes folder, to fiddle around with the FM/DMīs is more tricky though.

Greetings,

Knegel

Thank's for the help Knegel, you are right in what you say 1.28e has a lot in it and I would be more than happy to just keep it as it is but knowing me I must try and change things.

I have a STD 1.28e and will experiment with another 1.28e install.

Thank you again for your reply.

Hi Olddog,
some of the older add-ons included other files sometimes.
Some could have been flight files, (.flt) dat files, etc.
So some things might get mixed up that aren't supposed to.

When you are modding your 1.28e, what are you doing? And what are
you using to switch files out? OAW? Or what? Let us know.

Some add-on skins and planes came with a .flt file which was good for
1.2 or 1.26 but will not work with 1.28e. But 1.28e might have a .flt
file that will work for that plane. Let us know what you are trying to do
and we can probably get it working for you.

But before you do alot of experimenting with old mods, you really should try
the 1.28e available stuff first. Vanilla 1.28e is excellent alone, but you
should try ETO_01!
ETO_01 goes with the new 'Planes' and 'Sounds' folders.
When you load your ETO_01 dirset file and start the game and go to configure,
you will get this:

This screen will allow you to select 1 of 4 planesets, or plain 1.28e.

The 4 main screens:

Some of the plane selction screens:

Some of the hanger screens for selected planes:

There is also a seasons folder in ETO_01 that changes your terrain with
the season.

After you have played around with this for awhile, then you might want to download
some of the scenarios that were modified for 1.28e. (SPAW, SAW, DAW, FAW, BOB, SWOTL.)
Any problems or questions, just ask here!
