Jedi - who knows how they'll release it but it will be awesome no matter what the method of release. ED have shot themselves in the foot so many times with community announcements I think they just tend to stay quiet now. In any case should be a busy year for ED.

Yes, it seems ED hasn't been able to figure out the right way to promote their stuff so they're just sort of quitting it altogether.

While I understand that, I don't agree with it or think it wise.

Bear in mind there are a few products already announced to come before DCS:-Next. They'll be given priority and promoted first.

If it was a F/A-18E/F/G that list of taskings can also include buddy refueling and electronic warfare. wink biggrin

In the coming months we plan to release several new projects. While we wish to have open communications with our customers and let them know of our planned projects, please understand that plans often change due to unforeseen circumstances. The below list is a road map of our intentions and not a promise of things to come. As each product nears completion and feature lists are finalized, more details will be provided.

1- Combined Arms. This $19.99 add-on will allow A-10C, Black Shark 2, and Flaming Cliffs 3 owner to act as ground force commanders as the mission is running. Users can direct ground units, set fire missions for artillery/multiple rocket launchers, and take the role of a Joint Terminal Air Controller (JTAC). As the JTAC, players will have night vision goggles, IR pointer, laser designator, and Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR). Several other new items are still being considered. Combined Arms will work in both single player and multiplayer missions.

2- Flaming Cliffs 3. This will be a paid-for update to the Flaming Cliffs series and brings it to the same world, mission editor, AI, units, etc. as A-10C and Black Shark 2. We plan to include several upgrades to the aircraft, a resource management system, and several other new features. This will also make Flaming Cliffs online compatible with A-10C and Black Shark 2. Pricing will depend on what new features are included.

3- Nevada map. This will be a $19.99 add-on that will be compatible with A-10C, Black Shark 2, and FC3. Users that purchased the A-10C beta will get this map for free.

4- The first "DCS Flying Legends" aircraft will be released in the first half of 2012.

5- The next US fixed wing jet DCS aircraft is being worked on in parallel.

Wags from Eagle dynamics.

-1- NNNEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDd band
-2- I think I wait that one as much as "DCS:probably-F18". Because that'll set some nice battle in MP (and nice headaches with CTD)
-3- Nevada - Why that specific area ???
-4- Flying legends is expected to be a P-51. Someone discovered a P51 folder in DCS file system so it's the current most. I'm not big fan of that plane, but at least my wife should be able to fly that one.
-5- I "DCS:probably-F18" won't be too long to come with all the side project above - My main hope is that that one will be MP compatible straight out of the box, i'd like to see some nice air battle with FC3 owner.

EDIT :
Last note ....

as he stated, that is a roadmap, not an announcment of upcoming product .

Ditto. I've considered trying to get Jane's to run, but found some criticism of the flight model, and so have fingers crossed for new F-18. And a Gulf map for the carrier.

I've been wondering since Project 10 ended with an F-18 rolling out if that was a wink, wink.

I would bet on F-18. When the next AC is done they should really start working on a dynamic campaign. It would make them ... complete.

Many reasons: It was a 3rd party project that was already started and material was available, it happens to be the main training base for the USAF, etc. etc.

Can you imagine what multiplayer battles would be like if they added a B-17 Flying Fortress to Flying Legends after the P-51? One side flying P-51's trying to shoot down a B-17 occupied by everybody on the other side, lol. duck
