CAS, The military has been toying around the idea for a prop plane for CAS in Afghanistan. Its slow and has fire power. Modern jets are too fast.

Looks good - would you reckon the DCS market would be big enough for them to consider developing for it? It would be an interesting prospect.

I don´t think that that could happen - first because A2A is geared towards the FSX market and second because I doubt Accusim could be ported to DCS the same way it is for FSX.

I'm beginning to think they have no coherent plan for a digital battlefield. They're just hodge podging a bunch of crap together that makes absolutely no sense. If the combat aircraft doesn't have the proper environment and context to fly in, its not really that interesting.

I also have my doubts that air to air combat in a fighter jet (if they release one) is going to be interesting or believable, given the horrible aircraft AI in A-10 and blackshark. And going head to head in multi-player in the same aircraft (a-10 vs a10, P51 vs P51) isn't interesting or believable either.

This p-51 thing is just weird. I'll pass on this one, unless they release 10 other WW2 birds to fly with it, somewhere over Germany or England.

Yes! And the rest of the Vietnam era aircraft. Skyraider would be awesome, as would an A-6 at the DCS level. Ah, one can dream...

Seems to me an era ripe for the picking. Thirdwire gave it a shot, but just not high enough fidelity for my taste.

F/A-18C would be amazing. I'm building a C-model simpit and it is 70% done. Lets hope someone (hopefully DCS) releases a good F/A-18 simulator before I'm done with building

Mmmm DCS: Vietnam .. throw in everything and the kitchen sink! hueys, Cobras,Phantoms, Scooters, Intruders, man wish they had a bigger development house to do all these sims at one time!! Ehh for now me wants the Hornet and carrier ops !!!

The problem i see is with regards to cost. How much is one WW2 bird going to cost, without a WW2 theater, WW2 ground units, WW2 cities, WW2 opponents, etc.? Yet IL-2 cost me $10 and has everything and more? No thanks.
