On the contrary, think of it as a start. Sheds new light on the issue, no?

It doesn't shed any light, other than to insinuate there is more to come. But by the virtue of the fact that a 'Legends' series indicates that a flying legend could come from any era and won't necessarily offer opposition to a previously released module means that we can look forward to what? Mustangs, Hot Air Balloons, Zepellins and C130's in the same battlespace?

I had reservations after the BS2 release that ED aren't sure of their own direction.....I haven't seen or read anything yet that shows they are back on track!

Are you 'testing' me or asking because you have also lost sight of ED's direction? At one time seemed to be on a track that was planned in advance with a goal at the end and weren't afraid of communicating to their fans what they were attempting to pull off. I'm not so sure they have a good grasp anymore of all the above.

How many times has it been said - THEY'RE STILL WORKING ON THE FIXED WING JET along with Nevada and the modern theme. They've just expanded their range to include the Pony. They never left the track, they created another one that runs in parallel.

I don't see what the problem is. If they abandoned their jet or Nevada or modern theatre then yes, we'd have a right to complain. But complaining about an ADDITIONAL aircraft that's been added? Talk about biting the hand...

I'm not so sure why you get so defensive about this yet still can't see why other people are raising their eyebrows. The issue that people are raising is not that a new series is being developed, its that this series which so far has being based on atmosphere and ultra realism means this simply doesn't fit in or follow suit.

Spot the odd one out. Blackshark, A10C, P-51 Mustang

Now Spot the odd one out. Blackshark, A10C, P-51 Mustang, F18x

Now put current gen aircraft into a battlespace with current gen targets, current gen opposition, current gen buildings and airbases and drop a Mustang in there too..........see a pattern emerging?

So what about it?
Don't fly the Mustang in MP against a Hog. I know I'll be spending my time just getting to know the aircraft and flying about. Doubt I'd fly it in MP but that's my choice. Better to have it than not at all.

They can make that hot air balloon you've talked about - so long as it's in parallel and I'm still getting my fast jet.

At least it'll be the most faithful recreation of hot air ballooning we'll see without getting in a basket.
It's an additional aircraft for nothing besides the purchase price. Where's the problem?

If DCS is an abbreviation of Digital Combat Simulation, if we leave current gen aircraft out of the equation perhaps you can explain what is being simulated when a Mustang fires its ordance against Shilkas and Trucks from the 1970'/80's?

Is it how a realistic timewarp would work? If you just want to just 'fly around and learn a cockpit', perhaps having combat simulator as a feature within the title is a little ironic?

I see your point. If I cared about titles I'd raise a fuss too I guess. They shouldn't be making that, it goes against their title! Semantics.

This is no different to some big name titles going off on a tangent, like CoD. Who knows the different one might end up being the better seller a la MW when it was released, contrary to the theme of CoD back then.

Like I've said: raise a fuss if it detracts from us getting our next jet or Nevada. Anything else is a bonus.

Maybe he's saying that you don't know ED's direction? It isn't hard to figure out, but I suppose it's a bit of an 'I disbelieve' thing. People didn't quite believe it I guess when Matt said that DCS can be any time period, any vehicle ... etc. Heck, the CA addon isn't even a vehicle.

Yep, and the fans got upset with things, in particular various features having to be moved to a future product instead of the current one, the forums became difficult to police, and so ED reduced communications - which I suppose you'd normally call hype.

They have a pretty good grasp - but as far as the public goes, I suppose only time will tell. If you can't or don't want to see the potential of what's happening, then I don't think there's anything to discuss.
