Hi,

https://rapidshare.com/files/471104626/EAW1.28e_Fix12.zip

only the AI combat routines got adjusted. I started this two weeks back, when i adjusted the flight files for the new bullet trajectory routines.
The main goal was to make the Ai´s able to get a shot onto a smooth turning plane and to get into a good shooting position on easy targets.
This sounds easy but its not. Till now the EAW Ai´s wasnt able to shoot to a smooth turning plane, when they was perfect on the targets tail position. The target then had to turn into the Ai´s flightpath, often such a "turn fight" ended near the ground, where the target had to level out, then the Ai could shoot.

Now the Ai´s can manouver into this smooth flightpath to get a shot.

Additionally the other combat routines and manouver select routines got adjusted as well, it should be more difficult to shoot a Ace down now and its more difficult to get them off the tail.

Please report possible problems!

Greetings,

Knegel

Edit: F11 was not the exe i wanted to upload frown

Jeeeeez! That was fun!
Got blasted a bunch of times when I wasn't expecting it....
but I adjusted a little and got some.... thumbsup

I found that I could stay behind them better, but they always
turn right when I'm getting ready to fire, so you just have to
be patient.....but my own wingman can't get them like they use to...
they get a few shots off, but not a stream like they use to, and have
to keep turning and coming back...Sweeps seem to last much longer.
So far, so good!

Hi AO,

1st i couldnt believe what you wrote, but then, after reloading Fix11 i saw that the exe i did offer wasnt the one i had in my EAW root and wanted to offer. Fix11(the one i uploaded by mistake) was a early stage of the fix11 work.

Ok, now its called F12 and do what it should. smile

Greetings,

Knegel

Alright.......that's even harder.....
and they do most of their manuevering faster.....
They make you catch up to them first.....it's not until
they are forced down low that they start rolling over.
What is that? Is that like a 'snap-roll' to a split-S
right in your face? I kept stalling trying to do the same.....
Down low, this was death for me..... eek
(In my P51D against 109G-2's)
That's all right.........I'll adjust my stick a little...
Now, if I could just keep his wingman off my ass, I'll survive
long enough to get a kill................. neaner

Great vid!

That poor G2 had gunpods, no??

And it was a rooki?? Looked like a repeated split S. The Aces normaly do more varied manouvers and they might also strike back.

Nope.....EXPERT!
They did plenty more stuff.....that was all I managed to video!
I saw them do alot of different stuff with full squad missions.
But I like to test first with one (me) against 'light' setting.
(Usually 4 enemy.) Usually makes for a long battle.

I made some career missions last night, and it was much more demanding to shoot down the bastards! While dogfighting looks like they are more concerned with Energy fighting and suddenly they are already at your six ready to shoot you down. I didn´t noticed anything strange so far. But i remember that before this fix, very often, the AI's tend to crash while flying at low altitude.

Thanks for your efforts Ralf thumbsup

Cheers
