I'm playing the campaign in iL2 Forgaotten Battles. To reach the target area does take a long time even with the time speeded up to 8X. Is there a key to enable me to enter the target area or near it instantly?

I don't think there is, just the time speed-up. There isn't even a 'skip to next waypoint' feature.

There is a "Time Skip" feature but you need to bind a key to it. It is the Time Compression area of the Controls.

Oh yeah, isn't that the feature where the screen goes black for a while and stuff happens on autopilot but you can't watch? I remembered that as 8X speed, sorry.

Yes, the screen goes black and IIRC it also disables the .trk feature so you can't save a .trk at the end of the mission.

Personally I never liked it so I never used anything faster than the 8X speed.

Ah! Problem as it's not in the controls. Everything is in except the time skip bit. Perhaps it's in one the patches. Anyway,I'll be getting the iL2 - 1946 & hopefully it'll be in there.

A lot of new features haven't had a default key assigned to them in IL-2 history... so it's always up to the indivdual pilot to go through his/her setup after a patch has been applied to see if there's any more key combinations that need to be remembered
