I finally messed around with the brake linearity slider in the iRacing menu.
I changed it from 1.6 to 2.0 and now it isn't so sensitive, I had no idea what it did so I just left it alone for a long time.
This made a huge difference in the way I can handle the Skippy driving
I was just practicing at Summit Point Raceway and after I changed the setting my laptimes improved by several seconds smile
I am still not very fast though, I will probably get some pedals with a load cell later this year.

just wondering.... what pedal do you have? Because if you have a load cell then that needs to be ZERO.

I have the basic Fanatec CSR pedals with potentiometer brake.
Never thought I'd be able to call the skippy even remotely controllable, I used to have to drive it real slow to avoid locking up the brakes.

Does a higher value make it less sensitive at the bottom of the brake press?
or less sensitive at the start?

I'm wondering because I'm going to replace the spring in my logitech with a progressive tension spring - it gets harder to press the farther you press.
So thinking about reducing my brake sensitivity to fit it...

If you have the Fanatec CSR, which is what I have... turn it to 0... the load cell does the work... read the small print under that setting.

Then you adjust the stregh with the turn knob on the pedals.

I probably can't do that as mine are potentiometer G27 pedals, the only thing I'm changing is the spring so it's tightly coiled at the bottom. The required pressure gets more as you press the pedal, it's kind of a cheap way to fake load cell behavior ($30 upgrade).

So I probably won't be going all to 0, but maybe I'll try it. I assume 0 means totally linear?

Do you guys use different brake settings per car?

yeah, I think the default was 2.0 when I installed the game and I was always locking up my brakes with the cheap logitech pedals in any car due to the sensitivity. I think it now set at 1.7 for me.
