I am trying to find a hi-resolution satellite picture of a certain area. The Google Earth is a bit blurry at that particular location and I was wondering if it is possible to get a better shot from somewhere else.

Does anybody know a place/database where I could get/request a hi-res picture of a specific area?

MS has their version, now called Bing maps. Where Google is forced to hide military installations, you can still view many of them on Bing maps.

:)) Thanks! It's not a military installation. It's a place affected by a landslide. Will check Bing.

Edit: Unfortunately Google is better than Bing at the location of interest.

check your local government, soil and water perhaps. We have aerial maps taken pretty frequently in this area. I have seen my son an myself on a roof we were reshingling a few years ago.
