- I have been quite unhappy with the changes made to youtube, so I did my own web site for my videos. I hope you will like it: www.flightsimvids.com - You can still make comments via youtube on my videoes, but at least now they are presented a bit better.

BTW, any comments on the web site design are very welcome. Does it seem to work ok for you? - I'd like to squash any bugs that you might find (sometimes people who use other browsers find problems...)

Yes, at the moment. I have really disliked the "new" youtube and the strange limitations they put on people's channels now... At least this way the vids should be easier to find with no hassle.

They load real slowly, Frey. I tried to watch the most recent video on 720 resolution and it just took forever. It finally timed out after a third of the way through. I never had that hsappen on one of your vids before. I will try again, just to be sure it's not on my end.

I know my connection isn't that great, but if I let it preload for a few minutes I can make my way through the rest of your vids. Now? No

They are hosted by youtube just as they were before, though. Maybe you were used to looking at them in a small window because of your bandwidth? - You can still do that, in any case: just click the resolution icon in the lower right-hand corner. Or click to the youtube icon to go to the youtube page...

But, yeah, I guess the site is best for those with a good bandwidth... That is a choice I made, by defaulting to full-browser-window video.

Freycinet - You know you can actually change the look of your channel back to how it was before YouTube decided to update it all.

I tried and it changed back for myself, but I didn't seem to be able to change it back for all other viewers... - Or am I mistaken?

Yeah, just tried again. When I'm logged in I myself can see it "the old" way. But if choose the old look, then log out and just go to the channel anonymously, well then it still shows the new look.

Not just that, but your old Channels design will soon be gone...

- I really think Google has screwed the pooch big time with their terrible gmail and now youtube redesign. Dumbed-down and ugly... - nothing to like....

Maybe they are just becoming big and bad like all those other tech firms that have grown out of their nimble and irreverent days (MS and Facebook come to mind...)

Oh.

I hate how everything can be logged into via a person's Facebook or Google account now. And when I wanted a second YouTube channel, I had to sign up to Gmail just so I could get it. I don't mind Gmail, but I didn't need yet another e-mail account (everytime I change ISPs, I, like anyone, get a new one).

And I hate how all the Google services are being redesigned so they are Flash or Java-driven, making them resource-heavy for nothing.

Your website works fine with MacOSX and Safari

Small things you could do are design things only. First add some space between the video preview images.It will look more professional.
Next you might also rethink the color you use as background. The White blue red colors looks somewhat french at least it has an early internet 90s style. You post WWII stuff on your website why not use some plane camouflage grey/blue colors instead?

Your design comments are very pertinent and I'm sure correct. I coded the page myself, so - given my complete html ineptness - it doesn't aspire to anything more than being functional and dead-simple.

I'll look into the colours, though. It seems I maybe ought to rethink hose!

My Son & I watched a couple tonight & some pretty good flying there......looks very good...

if you have a graphic software you only need to load an screenshot of your favorite plane. Next use the color picker and click on the color you want to choose.
If itīs not a plain simple graphic software you should be able to read the colors in html format.
I would help if needed.
