Hi everyone,

I didn't know where else to post this, since I can't register at the Saitek forums. A couple of days ago I received my x52 pro. I was able to set up a custom profile using the SST software Ver. 7.0.2.7, and it was working fine. The next day though, the profile wouldn't register within DCS A10 and I couldn't open the profile editor without it becoming unresponsive and having to force exit the profile editor. I've tried uninstalling the software and drivers completely and reinstalling it with different versions but nothing has seemed to work.

I'm running windows 7 64 bit.
I was using the 64 bit software and drivers.
My windows is completely updated, so I'm not sure what's causing the problem.

If you can give any help, I'd really appreciate it so I can use my hotas to its fullest.

Hello Joeben,

Unfortunately Saitek is not too good with their software development as I could not get anything to work with the new Ver. 7.0.2.7.

My Solution was to uninstall 7.0.2.7 and use the older SST_Software_64_6_6_6_9. Viola! Everything works again!

The new "Smart Version" was so horrible to use as the new interface wouldn't allow me to profile multiple peripherals.I could only assign one controller at a time and the mappings wouldn't hold. It might have been fixed since then but I'm happy using the older version which works well enough.

Hope this helps.

Hello again,

Was checking the Saitek forums again and came across this fix. It didn't work for me but perhaps you could try it.

Unplug the controller, click Start>Run, type regedit and click OK. In the Registry Editor browse to the following folders in order:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (HKEY_CURRENT_USER if using Vista)
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Media Properties
Private Properties
DirectInput

And delete any folder starting with VID_06A3. Plug the controller back in, move it fully a couple of times and see if that has fixed it.

Down load the correct version software for your system from our web site.

Thanks hellmann for your advice. I ended up reverting the SST back 6.6.6.9 and it seems to work fine. The only other problem I have now is that button 31 is recognized in the control panel but it doesn't seem to be recognized by the profile editor. But if thats the only problem I have, then I can live with it.

Thanks again

No worries,

The new software just seemed to be a graphical upgrade with MadCatz branding. I spent 2 days trying to make it work and reverted back. If you find the stick too sensitive I know of a couple of fixes that work real well. Its my second X52pro as the first one went bad after 2.5 yrs. Luckily I purchased an extended warranty so the second one only cost me $20. I'm done with Saitek after this though its tough as I also have the THROTTLE QUADRANT and original PEDALS. It will be quite the investment when that day comes.

Glad I could help.

Just want to add my thanks, Hellman. Your suggestion of reverting back to SST_Software_64_6_6_6_9 worked awsomely. I was having trouble with my stick/throttle after grabbing the latest drivers & software package; the profile editor would just die and after several un-installs and re-installs (all fail) I stumbled on your advice. Thank you, Sir. smile
