Okay.
So i found the proper OAW :P , and installed it, i also recieved a link for the 352nd plane pack which i installed with no problems, but now i have a new problem. I have planes that dont have engine sounds when i run the 'ETO_1' plane set. Specifically im flying the Hurricane and I dont have an engine start or running sound. Admittadly i have been messing with the planes folder in the EAW directory, trying to update it to Knegels current version. All sounds return to normal if deselect the ETO_1 and run vanilla EAW. I checked and the sound files are in the directory but for some reason i dont hear them.
And as for skins. How do i go about desiganting a specific skin in a multi pac as the 'player' skin for each flight?
thx for your patience guys. Looking forward to some online in the future once i get brushed up a bit.

The Multi-plane feature is based on a complete set of files for the plane type that you are going to fly. That file set is unaltered from the normal condition for one plane. For each additional individual plane there is another 3DZ file and its associated TPC file for each portion of the plane that you wish to display different appearances.
In the P51D group that I made for the 352FG the first and base plane has 17 3DZ files and 12 TPC files. Each of the following planes has 5 3DZ files and 5 TPC files.
To change the position of any plane in the group, switch the names of the 5 associated TPC file with another plane and the planes will appear to have swapped positions. I don’t know if the PCX files were in the Zip which AO sent to you. If you want them let me know and I will provide them.
The program will use the TPC files for the skin textures under ordinary conditions. If the textures are on a BMP file with the same name, it will use them first. On the BMP files you can render the skins in 16 bit colors and get the benefit of a vastly wider range of colors. AO is using GLIDE mode and that does not allow that feature to be used. If you are interested in updating the colors, that can be done.
It has been a long time since we were last in contact. I am very glad to communicate with you. I have a special soft spot in my heart for you guys who introduced me to the arts and skills of this Sim. Again, welcome back.
Jack

Cass Hi Cass Regarding the plane sounds, you probably missed to download the "sounds" folder. It should be where you got ETO_01 You cant select a player skin out of the MS set. Offline you can do what Jack suggest, but online our skin depends to the "player number", so to the "join sequence". So if you host a game, you should get the 1st skin. Greetings, Knegel

Posted in a previous post: Your "PLANES" folder is used with ETO_01. Your P51 engine sound used default CDF sounds. When Ralf updated the PLANES folder he also had the 'new' sounds folder in mind, so he placed a 'PlaneSoundsxx.mpf file in the FM folder that points the exe to the new sound. In the case of the P51D, the PlaneSounds05.mpf file points to sounds 188 and 189. But the old 'sounds' folder only went to 179, so you wont get any sound. You need to download the new sounds folder here: http://www.sandbagger.uk.com/EAWSSS/sounds.htmlNow you will be able to 'hear' your new P51D sound! And there are many more new sounds there. I will make a post later about the planes and sounds folders. Thanks, AO Hi Cass, you need to download the 'sounds' folder from the link above. It is the latest. Your ETO_01 sounds will all work fine when you place the new sounds folder in your EAW root. Let Jack send you a 352 multiskin set with your plane as the number one plane. This will work best. In single missions you will always be in your plane....but you wont get it in career until you have earned it. (Squad leader.) AO

Hi Jack; Yep good to chat with you again, glad to see your still around and contributing. I think i have the idea on the files. In the zip i got from AO it has Roller in the #1 slot so i would have to find all my tpc/bmp files and switch those around. AO included both tpc and bmp files in the DL. I am running D3D so if you have deeper colors im all there for that Oh and here is another question for you folks. I keep getting a CTD when i try and check the loadout screen, is this a known bug? Knegel, I have the original sound folder but it was missing the Hurricane sounds, i have just loaded the new sound folder so i will check that out in a minute. It may have been missed, i love the Hurri but lots of people dont like to fly it, its slow and all . AO; thanks for the heads up and help. Im looking forward to flying with you guys on line soon. Once i get my crap together here and get some stick time back on my favorite WWII sim. I spend a healthy amount of time with Falcon4 too so times a premium . Cheers Fellas! Cass

Cass, downlaod this updated exe, (Fix12) https://rapidshare.com/files/471104626/EAW1.28e_Fix12.zipand place the E EAW128e_12 folder in your OAW128 folder. Load it with OAW. This will fix your loudout ctd. Let Jack send you another 352 multiskin with your plane in the #1 spot. Saves the hassle. My zip only has the bitmaps for 1/2 the squad. Even when you fly ETO_01, if you loaded a skin with OAW, that's the skin that will be used. If you do a reset-all with OAW, then the game will use the skin for that slot in the planes folder. Let us know how things are working, AO

Hey Cass, I assume from what you had said that you wish to make any adjustments or modifications by yourself. I don’t have any idea of what your knowledge or skills are. I will just list what I have and you can take it from there. If you need anything, just say so.
I don’t remember what exactly was in the files that I shipped to AO/Roller. I have a total of 15 352nd FG planes in the group. Dumo is the first and the leader and Roller is 2nd as Dumo’s wingman .Dumo has the full complement of files for his plane. All of the following planes have only the five 3DZ and corresponding five TPC files for the skins. They are as follows; 01 ROLLER, 02 SPITTY, 03 JACK, 04 BEAV, 05 SNOOPY, 06 BRONCO2, 07 JOYRIDE, 08 CASS, 09 TIP, 10 HIGGY, 11 BRONCO1, 12 WARBIRD1, 13 WARBIRD2, 14 YO11.
I created some BMP files for some planes but they still had the same colors that came with the 256 palette. I never adjusted the colors. I did some experimenting on my plane but since Roller couldn’t use them I had no incentive to continue and so I never finished the project. Since you are interested, I will probably pick it up again.
Check your PMs on the SimHQ forum. I want to send you some files.
Jack
