At 4:45 I got goosebumps all over and the final minute is simply EPIC stuff.

Great stuff indeed, that scene with the Peg charging to the rescue always gets me too. I remember seeing it the first time and just being gob-smacked. There are very few scenes in TV or film that can do that.

Goosebumps . . . followed by something else when I saw the Pegasus (now that I know what it portends).

That is one of the best episodes of the series if not of tv in general. I love watching it. Although they should have left the galactica to die and kept the pegasus since it was in better shape and a better ship overall.

But then the show would have been changed to "Battlestar Pegasus". wink

Babylon 5 had some amazing space action sequences. Given the technology (and budget) available at the time, it was pretty amazing and much better than what its peers were putting out. wink

Jump ("double" pun intended) to 2003 and the BSG miniseries gave us some pretty good stuff, certainly more than enough for us to know, deep down, that we were in for quite a ride. Fast forward to late 2006 and... well, suffice to say that, when I saw the Galactica jumping into New Caprica's atmosphere, it blew everything I have seen to date out of the water, period.

Yup, that's what 10 years of advances in CGI get you. B5 had to work PAST its low budget deficiencies. BSG had the benefit of not having to deal with that in the same way. Instead, they only had to deal with "not enough in the budget to do those shots" as opposed to "shot looks bad."

I admit that when I first watched B5 I was kind of taken aback with the crude CGI but once I got into the characters and the storyarcs I didn't care anymore.

That's what happens when you wait till years later to watch a show!
