Why does US legislation bother so much people from other countries? Maybe US will become North Korea of world Internet but US do not constitute entire World.

However if US law will effectively force directly or indirectly similar solutions and limitation in other counties that will be real mess and danger. Yet it remains to be seen...

US law can ounly be enforced upon US based servers who violate copywrite law.

Wikipedia is the one forcing it's opinion upon the world.

Major disapointment.

TT2,

That's just Brit doing his usual TWI ( typing while impaired ) schtick. biggrin

As for PIPA / SOPA, if you read today's news you'll see that the politicians are dropping off the band wagon like it's on fire.

I think they may be catching on to the fact that the majority of Americans are not happy with their antics. Overall approval rating for the 2 houses of congress is down around 9%.

Change is in the wind though I fear it's going to be a close run thing.

As George Bernard Shaw put it "A government with the policy of robbing Peter to pay Paul can be assured of the support of Paul.

What I read is that Megapload made no or little effort to legal copywrite violation requests and rented server space in the US, thus subject to existing US law.

Would you expect any less for Moogy if people were passing out the EAW code and he refused to check if you were using his webspace to do it?
