Interesting thread !

I have a burning question though : about game speed

I really liked RUSE, that is until I became overwhelmed by game speed and could not manage all the unit stacks + bases, approximately halfway through the campaign.

Wargame seems to have been improving upon the RUSE concept, but I fear speed is gonna be an issue again for me.

Is it possible to alter game speed, or to pause and give orders ? (in SP of course)

Thanks in advance for any insight

Jerome

No, I've seen no such controls for pause or altering game speed. It would be useful though, because some missions start you running with enemy forces breathing down your neck at the onset.

Interesting game so far, the interface is great - simple and easy to use, no manual required. I kind of question the effectiveness of SPAA guns vs main battle tanks however. Yesterday I faced 4 shilkas and 4 t-62s with 8 leopard tanks ( 1A1 and 1A2 four each ) and got my a$$ handed to me in a head-to-head confrontation where I arguably had better recon in place than the AI did. WTF?

Yeah, the sounds screwed up. IRL, the 23mm on the Zsu-23-4 would do little than scratch paint on a MBT. Something that needs to be addressed in a patch, methinks.

At least someone else is agreeing with me that this is wrong in this game! I said this since the beta and get the reply that it doesn't happen and I am playing it wrong...

Well the AA is shooting at a very high rate of fire, stunning your tankcrews, making them less effective. So even outdated Tanks can take them down.
Tanks are mostly dead when you operate them on their own. Get a good mix which can support ech other.

I think in these cases it´s very important what kind of veteran level your troops have. The lower the level the faster they get stunned and routed/destroyed!

So now one ever bothered telling the poor slobs going through the German Army tank qualification course that 23mm AAA shells could not penetrate the armor of a MBT? I think we need syllabus change!

Yeah, there's a bit of a disconnect. Read over on the game's boards one justified it as the crews getting "knocked around from the torrent of bullets". 7oz moving 45 tons at all, let alone violently enough to impede crew function?..
