I'm attending my first pilot job interview on Friday, with a company that operates Cessna Caravans. I got a tip from a guy I know who used to work there, that they ask a bit about the PT-6 that powers the Caravan. So I was wondering if anyone here has got any documentation on the PT-6, or a link to a website with some in-depth info on it. Specifically the PT-6-114 of 675shp.

Good luck on the interview. My documentation for the -6 is from my Shorts and 99 manuals which are buried in storage somewhere. Don't know if they would be of interest to ya as they are of the older version of the -6.

You can try the FAA Type Certificate.. Has basic perf/limit information. Also describes the differences between variants in simple details in the notes section.

You are on the right track in looking for the info on the company's equipment. I did a google for "cessna caravan gouge" and came up with some good returns. Here is one that could be useful for Fri.:

* Learn about the company but not so much that you look like a stalker.

* You are selling yourself to them. Be ready for the "You don't have much experience..." type of comment.
You dont want to agree with such a statement without minimizing it. For example: "You are correct that I am rather low on total experience, but you may have noticed that I have flown many and varied types a planes and they have all required studying and techniques which I have found comes fairly easy to me and I look forward to the challenge of learning and operating the equipment you are operating.

* Remember that everyone at the company could be interviewing you. That includes all people you walk by or talk to. The influence of a Secretary or Administrative Assistant, is often large. Humility is key.

Good luck.

Wireman, thanks! smile

I'm thinking I'll re-read my winter ops procedures. Icing, contaminated runways, braking action etc. And brush up on my approach plate briefings. Been a while since I've flown IFR now.

Thanks for the help so far, guys smile
