I'm guessing most get let off due to 'insufficient evidence'? 13 men in a boat full of weapons,they ain't fishing. Even if drastic action was taken against pirates,would that stop others doing it? Terrorists get taken out every day but there are always others waiting to take their place. I say let the Russians police the Somali coastline,they seem to know what to do. Why is a pirate an "enemy of humanity"? What is an "enemy of humanity"? Why does a soldier have the right to kill people on sight without them having fired on him? If he shoots at the marine, or looks like he will try to, the marine should shoot him. If he had killed someone and resisted arrest with lethal force, then he could shoot him. Just being armed in a boat is not an on the spot capital offence. Not in the UK or Europe anyway. Pirates are armed robbers. Typically no-one gets shot either. So for you, in the U.S., the police should always shoot robbers dead even if they do not threaten the officers, and have not assaulted anyone? Because they are enemies of humanity? _________________________
