Hey All,

I been within the last 2 weeks been having some USB Devices Turn OFf then On again real quick.. Mainly it appears to be my Thrustmaster MFD's and just a while ago my nVidia USB Emitter for nVidia 3D Vision go off then on..

I hear the Windows Sound of it turning off and in this case see the MFD's go Off (Lights Off) then turn back on with the Windows Sound..

IT seems to be intermintenet, I checked the cables nothing looks loose, I also checked Power Managment under Device Manager and turned OFF the setting that turns it off to save power..

I have all the devices that keep turning off Plugged into the MotherBoard, I was thinking the USB's are on the Fritz but I am hoping it can be corrected by the software Perhaps a setting in the BIOS??

These devices don't have any kind of setting to automatically take USB 1 slot do they? I know my G27 has an option for that which has created a conflict for me a couple of times when I don't boot up with it plugged in.

Is sleep mode disabled? Sometimes devices don't come back quite right after awaking. Doesn't sound like what's going on here, but it can't hurt.

Got another pc you can test these on together? That would help you eliminate the devices or cabling as the problem.

I get that Windows (7) kaboink kaboink sound, too, and my MFCDs flash off and back on. It happens when I move my butt too fast across my chair and then touch something on the computer - static at work. I have anti-static mats and try my best to touch those first but sometimes I will hit the Warthog stick base and that causes the kaboinking.

And if the kitty cat gets too close I have a bunch of old mice that I fend her off with. She came over one day and started rubbing my leg and sent a serious spark out through my little finger to the throttle and within two weeks the USB 2 chip on the MB toasted and I had to RMA it.

My flight equipment all goes to one USB hub and all of the devices are connected to ground through a 10 Meg resistor. Over the past year I still get a kaboink now and then but no failures... knock on wood.

Well on an unrelated issue but somewhat related I rearranged the USB Devices and took out the USB 3.0 Hub that was connected to the Mobo internally..

I also had a bit of a scare as I had reset CMOS and was unable to get into BIOS because the keyboard was NOT recognised.. was funny cause the Keyboard is USB and was not sure why it was NOT being recognised by BIOS??

So I just rearranged and took off my Webcam and rearranged the USB Order. I guess just wait and see what happens..

I am thinking maybe a slim chance that the USB 3.0 Hub (Was plugged into mobo and a card in the Slot space for cards..) was causing problems with USB In general, I do not know for sure, but it does NOT seem to be going off now??..
