He mentioned 4.11. Did they integrate this in 4.11, or have they tested it successfully in 4.11?

However the answer to that question turns out, this is great news. yep Big aircraft fliers that can see their aircraft out the window will appreciate the improvement very much. thumbsup

Amazing detail. I remember that when I tried my hand at skinning in EAW, the skins were 256x256, and the 512x512 skins, which came later, seemed such a leap forward smile

Looks great!

Even if the size of the fight has to be pulled down to get good FPS with improvements like this it will be worth it.

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

Caspar has a point... while those super high resolution skins look amazing, I'm pretty sure that they won't be much use to the average guy flying single and/or multi-player missions and campaigns.

The skins look amazing, and I'm pretty excited to learn that such hi-res objects can be put into the game. Can today's systems handle a forest of those Cottonwood trees while flying over in that P-47? Maybe, if the pilot is on a sight seeing mission. But on a combat mission?? I have my doubts. But please, please please... prove me wrong! biggrin

I'd really just like to know how to get the skin of my plane on that level. I really want to improve the view out of the window, as the resolution is perceptibly lower than the rest of surfaces in view.
