What a nice plane. Rad half open, oil rad open, pitch at 10.30, rpm about 2300 and just cruising along between 450-500 ks all day long without an overheat. Seemed to struggle getting anywhere over 7000 metres though, but the dive down building up to 730 + was cool, impressive machine and definitely my fave in the game.

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

Yes I really gained an appreciation for the 109 flying IL2; this despite my favorite aircraft, in theory, being the spitfire.

Stop! You're making me consider taking that disk out of the drawer and actually installing this sim before at least one more
patch.

Yeah I was a Spitfire boy but the 109 really grew on me. The Spitfire just exudes beauty and finesse. The 109 just exudes menace and brutal confrontation ... and I like it rough.

So 10.30 for prop pitch is a good "time" after takeoff? I was keeping it at noon.

Noon is full pitch which i only use for takeoff , once i have taken off and grabbed a couple of thou i settle her back to 10.30 , trim her out , drop the revs so she is at about 1.3 ata and enjoy the ride smile Takes a little bit to get to 450-500 but once you are she loves it.

Gambit if you have not tried out cem yet it really makes it a lot better experience, i have had my head out of the fmb for a bit now and am just trying to enjoy the planes and pick up what they can offer, very enjoyable smile
