For the life of me, I cannot get AI Ace TA 183s to engage any target (me) with their guided rockets.
They just kinda fly around.

?

LOL... couldn't help laughing at the predicament. You're *trying* to get shot at with missiles by AI Aces in Ta-183's??

I have no ready answer for the non-shooting AI Aces, sorry. Do they fire missiles at your own AI flight-mates, or any other opposing aircraft? Is it possible that AI Aces disdain the use of missiles, and prefer guns/cannons? Perhaps try a lower enemy AI experience level with guns loaded.

As for your virtual self's self-destructive nature, I'm sure there is a 12-step plan available that may help.

I've messed around quite a bit with the X4 missile.They like to shoot at bombers and not fighters. What are you flying? The X4 was designed for taking down the B17, B24, Lancaster, Lincoln and B29. They will wail away on the B17, B24 and B29. I used them to look like an early SAM missile in for my Alternate History timeline.

I'll give that a try.

I was just bored going through the QMB (have tried all skill levels) plane by plane, and noticed this quirk.

I'll jump in a bomber and see if they do anything.

I did notice when I was in the TA-183 group (me and 3 aces) that they didn't engage the B-29s until ordered, just sailed along oblivious, then when ordered they cut loose with the X-4s and wiped them out. It's like they are vision impaired, or using bomber AI or something. I only tried it 1X so not sure if it happens every time.
