So what's your biggest disappointment? My own is the fact that after writing all those yoga sutras, Patanjali went on to become a mobster under Michael Corleone, turned rat, and slit his wrists in the bathtub while being kept under guard on an Army base. I just expected so much more from a guy who started out so deeply spiritual and insightful. I don't think he'd have gone that way if the Corleones hadn't brought his brother over from the old country and had him in the gallery while he was testifying. Fate takes strange turns. Nevertheless, I still own a copy of "The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali". Rest in peace, Frank, and thanks for the deep insights. So what's yours? Cheers! Rick...

So what's yours? Cheers! Rick... Are these biggest disappointments in our lives up to now or just biggest disappointments from 2011? This is for your whole life. If your biggest letdown was getting beat up by that hefty girl with the frizzy hair in third grade, then that's the one. You don't have to limit it to 2011. Cheers! Rick...

No, Mrs. Sauron made me quit that. But I was working on a model airplane earlier and I think I might have got the tube of glue too close to my nose. Bad eyesight. I had to lean in close. Cheers! Rick... In that case, 1. The 2008 US Presidential election result. 2. The 1992 US Presidential election result. 3. The Boston Red Sox in 1986, 1988, 1990 and 2011. 4. The Miami Dolphins (several times). 5. The UM Hurricanes (several times). 6. The last X-Files film "I Want to Believe". 7. "Caprica" being cancelled after one season by SyFy.

One I can't/won't tell.
The other waiting for a girl to break up with a guy so I wasn't an arsehole and steal her, even though she was treated like dirt by him. She ended up with a son and to this day she still has to deal with the SoB.

I don't have a "biggest" one. I have a list of minor ones, similar to Panzer's in that none of them are really a big deal, but I don't regret any decisions I've made enough to wish I could reverse them. There are a few "I wish I had done X" things, but most of those are only with the benefit of hindsight. Sort of "maybe things would've been different IF I had...", but there's still no certainty it would, just increased confidence (compared to the time) that it would've turned out well.
I suppose the only one I can with absolute certainty is my profound disappointment that despite numerous attempts I've never won more than like $50 in the Lotto.

Being married or not is totally circumstance and personality dependent. Some people are better off that way, some are not. No right or wrong.
Ok, it IS wrong if you get married and divorced more times than you have fingers. You'd think at some point you'd get the hint that you're not suited to it!

I'm disappointed that none of the genuinely great leaders ever seem to run for major office and we keep ending being herded about by putzes.

Disappointments:
I didn't get to work until retirement at the job I had 3 years ago.
I don't get to spend near enough time with my sons.
I didn't take school serious enough.
I had to sell my 1980 CJ7 and I miss it dearly.
I had to sell my 1970 Corvette and I miss it dearly (but not as much as I miss the Jeep).
And finally I am 49 years old and I don't have a pilots license. But I intend to fix that one... some day.

It is and it isn't. It has to be the "right" size for the woman you're with. Of course, if you date many different women you're inevitably going to find the "fit" is better with some and lousy with others. I mean, if you have trouble getting it in and she's in pain the whole time, that's not really beneficial is it? Likewise if you barely have to move to fall out and you keep trying to get in "a better position" to make it work, that's not good either, is it? The Jedi Master

I look at it this way, you might as well be content because no person can be above average in every category. I mean, would you gladly accept a larger penis in a trade for being shorter or having a lower IQ? Wait, don't answer that.

You wouldn't WANT to be "above average" in every category.
Would you like "above average" weight, hair loss, cholesterol, frequency of health problems, brain impairment, debt, incidents with law enforcement, or number of ex-wives??

My oldest son asks me this from time to time, if I could change one this from my past what would it be. I dated 1 girl all through HS and 3 years after. Biggest regret of my life. You change so much just through HS alone that it would have been better to date around. Not sleep around because that's never been me, I just wish I didn't settle for 1 girl all through HS.
