I can't post in the rF2 forum.

Lifetime membership is AUD$82.99 ... seems a bit steep, might just go for the per year one.

Damn ISI they just keep making it better.... So as my understanding of it is.... I get the BETA, I get 18 months online access, and then only have to pay a extra 83 bucks for lifetime membership....

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!

I was expecting 100 bucks for the game and then 100 bucks or more for lifetime...

So at no more than 130 I can play online for the life of the game... I'm cool with that... It just means they expect it'll be around 6-7 years before they release rF3 and rF2 will probably still be played for around 2-5 years after rF3 is released... It works out cheaper for the lifetime option...

And I can't post in that forum either....

Edit Reason: Can't post there either

What do you mean? You can buy either 12 months (18 months) membership for $43 [or whatever, and then pay $12 (?) per year after that] or the Lifetime membership for $83, I didn't see an upgrade option anywhere.

If you play it for 4 years it'll work out to be roughly the same price.

I paid 100 bucks for both Duke Nukem and Skyrim, and I'm looking at $88 for Diable 3... Then there's the fact I paid $54 for rF1 some 5 years after release ....

So 83 bucks for a freshly released game with lifetime membership is damn cheap in my book... It doesn't matter if it's BETA to me, that just sweetens the deal...

You know on Steam the games that are $80-$100 for us are usually $50 for the US store. Total rip off. If you know someone in the US you could save a lot of money by getting them gifted to you.

I know we get ripped off heavily, and we don't even get proper version of the game like Left for Dead 2, and sometimes we don't even get the game like MK9... I hate it...

I suppose I could always use paypal to pay them back...

yeah same here. Paid (that took a few attempts...), got a receipt, following the installation guide I should now be able to click the login button in the simulation tab, but that button is not clickable... Loads of people having the same issue on the ISI forums, reactivation doesn't help. Starting to be quite late in Europe, I'll hopefully be able to try it tomorrow then.

EDIT: Just after I typed this, I tried the reactivation and that actually did work this time, rFactor 2 has finally launched for the first time on my machine!

Got in but most servers (very few servers online) were locked. Just had a look at spa with the historics driving OMFG It started me 8th on the grid and I got mugged at the start! I had 24 cars with a mixture of F1, F2 and F3 including me. will have to play around with setting till I get the smoothness I want but its looking promising.

I've played (single player) on Monaco in 68 (or whatever the year is) and there are icons along the bottom telling me there are other cars about, but I don't see or hear any. The only time I see them is when I look at the replay...is this by design?

I have Visible Cars set to 18

Looks schweeeet :-)

Well the British price for lifetime membership is only£56.99 I would say that is more than fair.
When Doug reopens the rf2 thread I will post a HTTP link for the .exe if anyone needs it.

Couldn't wait for the http link, so I had to get a torrent....yeah, yeah I'm impatient. biggrin

All I can say is if you "learned" 60's open wheelers on GPL, don't think you can just jump into these things are be an alien the first day...if you can, let me know because I want to call Maranello and be your agent. It took me 3 tries to get around the track one time at Spa... dizzy...those are some brave people standing that close to the track is all I can say.

Setups are going to be KEY...I can already see massive differences in the way the car performs in minor changes....hell, I could even tell a slight difference between an adjustment on front air pressures just on the outlap. The engine WILL smoke quick if you aren't careful with the revs, too.

The same basic parameters/line of thinking that rF1 had seem to be applicable here...just that the car seems a LOT more responsive to major changes than it did in 1.
